That moment when I'm at my campsite, the tent is up, my gear is unpacked, my first beer is open and we are all relaxed enough to be in high spirits after the ordeal of getting through the gates knowing we have four and a half days of music & partying with each other and all the fun that comes with it. Nothing beats that realisation

Sitting at the top of the hill by east camper an fields on Tuesday evening as the sun goes down. Sloe gin in hand, toasting absent friends ..... Looking at the site and just thinking what joys it is hiding and about to uncover over the next 5 days .

The feeling of anticipation is unbelievable ... And the feeling that we are so so lucky :-)

Coming around the corner on the coach to see the site come into view for the first time.

That's my most exciting moment for pretty much every festival. The anticipation of what is to come and that moment when you finally enter into the place that will distance yo ufrom the rest of the world, for a few days at least.

This will be my first Glastonbury, and so that 'first sight' anticipation will be even more magnified. I am most looking forward to having a slightly different festival experience of letting the festival happen to me, rather than feeling I need to stick to a schedule (43 bands at Green Man this year!), as I know that the shere size and breadth of stuff at Glastonbury make that a foolish plan!

Going with newbies for the first time since 2009 which should be fun, one of which is my soon to be 60 year-old Aunt who wanted to go for her 60th birthday! It's going to be veyr much a family affair this year and I'm looking forward to it, although I'm sure I'll still spend plenty of time exploring off on my own!

Also discovered an old childhood friend who I haven't seen for about 10 years has got tickets for the first time and we're planning on meeting up at G.

Plenty to look forward to!

The Back of Beyond (hopefully it's still there!). Worth the ticket price alone for me!

Also showing my sister the beauty that is Glastonbury Festival after her going to Sundown (don't ask).

Also, a growler and some garlic bread topped with cheese and bacon from the stall near the pyramid.

This!!! That back of beyond tent is amazing! I found it 2 years ago and that year spent 2 whole nights in there. This year i made an effort to tear myself away after a couple of hours as so much more to see and do but i have never been in such a jolly happy tent! I love the place!

I've been to three Glastonbury's and I don't know what this is… do tell.

This will be my second time (last time was 2013) and looking forward to unearthing new places, and meeting new people. Lying back on the grass with an ice cold Brothers cider in hand, taking everything in. My last experience wasn't what I imagined Glastonbury to be (went with people who took us where they wanted us to go and what they liked, rather than having our own experience) so hopefully it will be so much better this time.

It's great isn't it! There wasn't too many people in there either. Copying a cowboy dancing on the wall was one of the most bizarre but best things I've done!

Make a visit!! It's a little club thing as you go in to the SE corner before hitting the Shangri La right by the arena (I can't remember what it's called but it was a dubstep type club of the night and taught salsa lessons in the day) on the right hand side. Decked out like a haunted house. When you go in, there's people dressed as skeletons that you copy doing the conga and etc. and they have random things like a projection of a cowboy on the wall that you copy dancing. The music is amazing too. Here's the promo vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHCh0sMgX8I#t=33

Yes the shadow dancing is brilliant, they had the whole tent dancing along to Lulu - Shout, every single person in there was copying. All the routines the skeletons do are fab too. Its hilarious! Cant wait to go again this time around! :-) :-) :-)

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
