For a festival that has a reasonably decent line up I just don't get the Friday. It's so poor. I've even scoured surrounding area to see if there was any gigs on in flying distance on the Friday but nowt.

Should I try for Glasto ticket in resale and try and flog RW ticket

Still several announcements for Friday. Rock names coming. Don't worry, the line up isn't over.

Are you actually questioning whether to do this lol? Grab Glasto ticket in the resale and look back at Werchter next year when it doesn't clash. Werchter so far is a poor overall.

Dont know about the camping but I was expecting long queues for the festival entrance around Thursday noon but got in (+ replaced the e-ticket with a wristband) in less than a minute last year. Very easy to go to and from Brussels during the day, twenty minutes ride from Leuven in a fast train and about 7 Euros for return trip. The problem is that there are no trains after the shows so if you're planning to go to Brussels af night after the headliner you have a problem.

Thanks mate. Are there free buses form the festival to Leuven? And then 7 euro's return on the train from there? Not interested in mumford and sons so quite happy to go to bruussels earlier on the friday!

Guessing you guys on here are disappointed by the lack of rock acts which is why a few seem on a downer in regards to the line up? Agree that the friday is poor but the this is still one of the best line ups I've seen in europe so far (chemical brothers, prodigy, Noel, Kasabian, Florence, Foo fighters, hot chip, Lenny kravitz, Muse, Sam Smith, Vaccines!

There are free shuttles (15-20 minutes ride) from the festival to Leuven all day until the last shows are over. Keep in mind that if Pharrel is subbing and no dance act will be announced it might make M&S start late so you'll have to go while Pharrell is on or something.

About the lineup - I agree . While there is disappointment I think its still the best mainstream festival lineup in June/July for now, and probably will stay that way up until Glasto announce its lineup.

Don't worry mate I'm happy to leave before Pharrell! Thank you for the advice mate. All sounds pretty straight forward, assuming the free buses are fairly regular?

so happy with the addition of marmozets, for 2 reasons

1. I never heard of them before, and now I do

2. they have great sound, and werchter finally added someone new with some technical interest. they just sound amazing

It's like last year when I discovered royal blood

BTW if we get about 70 band then Thursday and Friday are complete and the, Friday still sucks but the rest of the days are phenomenal, looking for another "big" name for sunday

Hey Mark, as Marmozets are most likely playing Glasto, I'd suspect them to do the JP tent so I reckon that'd be a better place to try catch the couple of songs I like than outdoors at Leeds where she just won't carry it I don't think. If CFATB don't clash and Ash play and don't either, I've got not much reason to be at Leeds that day. It'd be much more likely I'd get a hopeful Refused warm up show ticket, a day ticket for Sat and head out into Leeds after.

Hope so mate. I don't want to overly critical of line up because two days are great, one is fine. long way to come from Scotland to spend Friday shopping in Brussels

Anyone wish to enlighten me as to the cheapest way to travel from Liverpool?

cheapest way is to go via national express. I done this the first year we went, but it is the biggest mission ever. Basically liverpool to london on a national express, then a euro lines to belgium. We did it over night took like 12/13 hours. A nightmare if you cant sleep on coaches like me. The plus side is no luggage restrictions.

Second year we got a national express to london and then the euro star to brussels. No luggage restrictions again tho so happy days on that front. This was better than coaching all the way but still took ages.

Last year we flew from Manchetser with brussels airlines. Its actually cheaper than i was expecting, I looked today for this years flights and its about £125 each. But were thinking of maybe driving over this year so not booked them yet!

Hope this helps you!

Thanks very much! I'll look into it :)

Try Megabus to London, then a separate Megabus from London to Antwerp. Babyquack figured out last year that heading to Antwerp worked out cheaper than Brussels, and then you've got the free train to Leuven.

I did Sheff to London, then London to Antwerp and it worked out at about £35 return. Could have been cheaper if I'd sorted out my passport earlier as well.

Just wondering, what you reckon the chances are of getting Brandon Flowers, Lana Del Rey or FFS (Franz Ferdinand and Sparks). I know they all have stuff going on this year. Would also love to see The Strokes and Childish Gambino, although I'm starting to get a bit worried that we've had all the big acts we can expect now. Seems to me that'd it'd be weird adding someone like The Strokes at this stage. That being said, I thought that about M&S

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
