Hi everybody.

Me and my GF are coming to RW from Scotland for the fifth time this year.

And I want to make this place even more special to us this time by asking her to marry me.

RW itself has been less than helpful in trying to help me arrange something. Understandably I guess.

I was thinking about maybe doing a flash mob proposal. Getting as many people in a group as we can at a specific time and place.

What do you guys think, you up for it? How best to get the word around?

This all needs more thinking, but want to see what you lot think and whether it would work.

Just an idea, maybe RW wasn't helpful but did you try contacting the bands directly or one of the official sponsors? If you get one of them interested I don't think RW would say no :)

I back Alsafer's idea, try contacting one of the bands directly, maybe they can stop playing for a minute or two. :-)

And IMO flashmobs are so last year, low key is the way to go. Maybe see First Aid Kit and go after champagne and flowers, drop on one knee and pop the question.

And they lived happily ever after... :-)

PS: I hope you are assuming she will say yes? It's gonna be a long night if she says no in front of thousands of people.

Damn, it seems Paul McCartney will headline Roskilde. This makes me slightly bitter when you compare with the RW announcement being M o S. Maybe thats what's lacking this year: a band/artist thats so big that anyone can sing along to their tunes. Hopefully some nice additions today at 4?

Catfish and the Bottlemen playing Hurricane as well, hope to see them announced today for RW

They sound like a blend of Arctic Monkeys from their 2nd album and The Kooks. Would be really nice :) We'll see in about 15 minutes...(or not).

Dissapointed again with the number of bands being added that I will "settle" for but still nobody that excites me. Oh well maybe next Friday

I agree with that. Patti Smith is quite cool but there aren't many bands, other then headliners, that really excite me....

Good additions today, but nothing really amazing!

Does RW normally announce big names in their last 20 announcements? or do they normally put all the good bands at the beginning for accelerating ticket sales?

Any possibilities of having a better sub-headliner on Friday/Saturday?

Didn't they announce the last 19 bands in one go last year. Most of which I'd never heard of.

To the guy thinking of proposing (I think you deleted your post as I tried to find it to quote it but hey,) - Foo Fighters had a couple up on stage at a recent Aussie gig

Don't know how something like that comes about but if you are wanting the proposal to be big there's probably nothing bigger at RW than Foo Fighters stopping their set so you can propose haha :)
