  1. Is the Myspace area seperate from the resort? if so thats super annoying. I went there for the first time last year and i'm now used to the finer things in life!
  2. So I'm pretty disappointed with the names so far. I'm holding off on my ticket but I have a sneaking suspicion that the headliners are going to be pretty poor across the board at all festivals this year :/ Ultimately, I'll go wherever the better undercard is
  3. If Kendrick comes to Werchter, I hope he mixes it up a bit. From what I've heard his festival shows last year were just compacted and trimmed versions of his arena set (which was fantastic). It'd be nice to get something a bit more exciting from him, he's more than capable of it
  4. Yeah, I'm an eternal optimist about the Werchter line-up but this isn't looking great. If they add Kendrick / Muse / Rammstein, I might be persuaded otherwise, but at the moment Hurricane is looking pretty good to me
  5. Heres some wildly ill informed guesses THE PRODIGY - MUSE - Liam Gallagher - Nothing But Thieves - Bring Me The Horizon - De Staat - Marmozets EDITORS - MUMFORD & SONS - Mac Demarco - Manchester Orchestra - Foals - Vintage Trouble - The Big Moon EMINEM - Twenty One Pilots - Run The Jewels - Mike Shinoda - Gogol Bordello - Slaves - Japandroids THE CURE - The 1975 - Kensington - Biffy Clyro - Courtney Barnett - Seasick Steve - Shame
  6. And yeah, I agree Muse are probably a certain. I think we could have a similar line up to 2015 actually. Muse, FATM, The Prodigy, Mumfords, Death Cab, Shikari, Royal Blood, Kasabian all contenders
  7. I think the downvote wasn't for your opinion on Russ, but on your "what place does rap have at a rock festival" comment. Give me Kendrick or Run The Jewels over London Grammar and The Kooks any day! Also, a lot of people prediciting Smashing Pumpkins as headliner. Are they at that level in Belgium any more? I'd imagine them more in the Alice In Chains slot but might be wrong
  8. I remember Foals playing to a pit with 3 or 4 people in it last year. Very odd. Looks awful for the band on film as well.
  9. Other major festivals manage with out a VIP area of this scale (Werchter had an almost identical lineup with no VIP pits). In fact, Mad Cool is the only major festival I can think of that limits entry to the front of the stages based on ticket type. I think VIP is a great idea but the second it interferes with the live experience I have a problem.
  10. Yeah, this happened last year as well. Security saw people jumping the fence and did nothing about it, largely because there wasn't enough of them to cope with it
  11. It's a shame to read some of these criticisms of the festival, particularly as they're largely the same ones I had when I attended last year. Was hoping for a major improvement going forwards and it's a shame these teething problems don't seem to have been addressed. For a Live Nation festival you do expect things to be a little slicker.
  12. I thought it was just a trap to get all the English people in one place! Haha!
  13. Ere we go. Top 5 No. 1 - David Byrne. Knew very few of his songs going in but my god was that a show! Reinvented the concert! No. 2 - Nick Cave. Spiritual experience! No. 3 - Nine Inch Nails. Got to the barrier, my mate somehow got side of stage the jammy bastard! Amazing energy. No. 4 - Franz Ferdinad. Never seen Klub C that energized. Belgium winning mid set probably helped! No. 5 - Idles. Raw, exciting and the "fun band" that I needed after George Ezra Bottom 5 No. 1 - The Vaccines No. 2 - The Script No. 3 - The Kooks No. 4 - Alice In Chains No. 5 - CHVRCHES All in all an amazing edition (particularly the Sunday). Shame the indoor stages were often "lock ins" but I had an amazing festival. The Hive Resort was fantastic, army tents brilliant and facilities wonderful.
