Noel - not my thing but cannot think of anyone else realistic at the mo and he is very poplular

Foos - no festival act would turn em down although Foos seem to tour the UK every year

Florence - many have said she will make a return as a festival headliner

Plus I am struggling to come up with many others Prodigy possibly

Are we pretty confident the Foos will headlining ?

If so I cannot see em having DC as well ?

i'm 99% sure that the Foos are, yeah.

And I agree with the idea that Glasto wouldn't deliberately choose to also have AC/DC in the same year (particularly so soon after having the first 'heavy' headliner last year), but I also reckon that if both bands dropped into their lap they wouldn't be turning either of them away.

So I reckon AC/DC is within the practical possibilities - tho I don't reckon it's happening.

Noel

Foo's

Florence

That is my guess

can't see Noel Gallagher as headliner.

maybe if the forthcoming album was out last year and was huge, then yeah, but at present (and at time of booking headliners last year), he only has 1 album out, which popular and relatively successful as it was, was hardly "book him to headline Glastonbury" successful.

Even though that is correct - he would do a lot of Oasis songs as a headliner. Lots of people would watch him just for those.

Neil could correct me but I have always been very suspicious when Mr Eavis says in June that he has booked the headliners for the following year .

I am sure some times come down to the wire so to speak.

yeah, there's very little chance that headliners are actually booked a year in advance, but big acts will be shopped around at that time by their booking agents for the following year. major promoters will be aware of a number of big acts who are planning world tours and so may be in discussions already at that stage.

i know for example in September 2012, Nick Cave was being offered around for summer 2013 festivals, and he's not even that big, or has that big of a stage setup. my friend is involved with booking a 10k capacity festival and they had him signed off before Xmas.

plenty of festivals taking place after Glastonbury have their headliners announced before Xmas, so obviously have things signed off by December, so Glastonbury would have have their business pretty much done at that stage as most big bands have to know where they'll be several months in advance for logistical purposes.

You defo shouldn't place too much belief in what Michael says at the end of one fest, tho from what i get to hear he does normally have a non-firm arrangement with one or more bands - that often fails to get firmed up for one reason or another.

A hell of a lot can change in one year.

I managed to get three coach tickets from Cardiff to Wembley last week. Standing tickets too! £125 each. Ticketline in Cardiff. I think they were returns. I'd still love them to play Glastonbury of course

    • Alright fair, I thought she only did BST once. Though I do question how that type of pop show will translate to a stadium.
    • yeah, but I enjoy moaning about them too much so whatever I guess.   and besides... a few years from now there will be absolutely nothing on TV except for Coben based shows so I'd best get used to it...   🙂        (for anyone who has ever read a Coben book - are the books as utterly sh*t as the tv shows???)
    • Those in the Glastonbury ‘Tour’ thread buying tickets noticed it when tickets first went on sale.   And if you look at the blocks still on sale here https://www.axs.com/uk/events/1489025/muse-tickets?skin=theo2 blocks 410-414 definitely stand out as the only seating areas without tickets available, so appears that they still haven’t gone on sale.
