Nor would it to leave it further away from the album release. I reckon it'll be be today still because of the date they arranged (poss. rearranged) the interview to air, Tuesday at the latest.

Out of interest, how many dates is it again that Wembley is allowed to do in a summer? I just read on a Gigwise slideshow that Rihanna has two shows 'pencilled in'.

Having stopped seething, on reflection, it would point to him being told he can no longer make the announcement.

Even he isn't this spectacularly unfunny.

I would say you are wrong.

It was a pre recorded interview and as far as I know the BBC knows nothing more that what was broadcast......

At least we know there is a tour and it will last for 20 months!

what exactly were people expecting Evans to announce?

surely a world tour won't be left to some english breakfast radio host to announce.

the AC/DC website will be announcing the tour first. radio stations in certain countries might get the tour dates in that country but will be embargoed until after the full tour is announced officially by the band.

Interview was prerecorded, but it was possible that he was going to be given the tour dates to announce after surely.

It could have gone live on their website at the same time, and similar 'humorous' disc jockeys could have been given the same news to announce in different countries.

The alternative is that it was a really really shit joke. And surely even he's not that unfunny?

I think you are trying to read too much into it.

Perhaps they do not feel ready to commit to a tour at the moment.

They need a drummer for a start , then to rehearse and prepare - maybe next summer is just coming up too fast ?

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
