It's hardly screamo, is it. Could easily fit on BH&R or maybe even The Resistance. It's a nice song but not convinced it'll win over the unhappy Download regulars etc.

I think besides a few songs, Muse have never been the best lyrically so as you say it's expected. Enjoying the song more with each listen to be honest!

Brilliant chorus, this track is far better than the first stuff they put out from the last two albums. The verses are a bit naff which lets it down. Not really a return to form, but I'm optimistic of the album

It works well. That whole chorus is brilliant. If the chorus wasn't lame, I'd go as far as calling it a return to form.

They're going the right way anyway. Only United States, MK Ultra, Unnatural Selection and Panic Station better that off the last two albums for me.

Muse have never been strong lyrically. This is no worse than anything else they've written. And it's supposed to be ironic anyway, just like the use of the word Ass, because it's taking the piss out of US military commanders.

It's also considerably heavier than most of their recent output, and comparing this to Fall Out Boy is just an absolute joke.

I'm by no means a Muse fan, they lost me years ago when they started putting out singles like Madness and Supermassive Black Hole. But this has started winning me round.

Just sick of all the negativity round here. #irony

Was he talking about the first single or Psycho when he said this? I know we all assumed the first single was Psycho so probably would have thought of them as one and the same.

I think three possible scenarios are:

1. He said first single and is actually talking about Dead Inside.

2. He said Psycho, and what he meant by "too offensive for radio" was that the record company wanted a more accessible song for first single (although this is hugely accessible).

3. He was chatting shit.

There's no way that's too offensive for radio.
