Ahh those heady days when we were wondering if it'd be Swift, Madonna, Prince, FM, Blur....... they seem so long ago now.

Yeah, we may as well have been debating between Springsteen, Neil Young, Rod Stewart and Steve Winwood.

Next year will be mental for rumour's. 2014 blew the idea of 'festival exclusive' out of the water, 2015 has swept away the 'playing elsewhere that night' issue. 2016.... the year the dead rise?

It'll be a hologram who is also playing an exclusive gig somewhere else on the same night

Going back to the Chems, they just had there new record played on Annie Mac's show - i think it was Ed that was interviewed - talked about festivals this year and said ""we" will be touring with an all new light show etc. and looking forward too it" - so could be both brothers

This close to the shows .. Rescheduling a Saturday and Sunday night gig to move to the Monday night is a disgusting move from any band. Why would the (predominately) French fans give a shit if they headline Glastonbury? I for one would be furious.

There are people who would have booked travel, hotels etc and all that is non refundable. If the shows were cancelled for an illness or something similar then that's a totally different issue. Surely there must be some legal standpoint on this? Then there's the issue that the atmosphere of weekday gigs really don't compare to a weekend.

I think it's a disgusting move from the band, and even put some blame on the festival organisers for dangling the carrot for the possibility of this ever to happen in the first place.

i'm sure somebody (maybe Neil?) said that it'd be the one original brother and then the guy who's been doing all their visuals etc for years filling in for the other brother when playing live

On the link before it said Tom? was the brother touring, so Ed doing the interview and saying what he did seemed as if it could be both for festival season

Hopefully. Think I'm edging Chems at this stage. Presuming they are the Sunday other headliner which is no guarantee

hope you're right! i mean, i'm sure i wouldn't notice the difference when i'm seeing them, but just like any act it's always nice to know it's the original members up there

Gutted that after all this mass speculation the result is The Who. To me they're just a bit of a meh booking. Will that much of changed since their last time in 07? I was looking for a great stellar act, the fact that they have just toured and are having to move other dates to come to Glasto clearly shows that the bookers haven't had the line up organised. I dont think a lot of people are going to be cheering about this booking...... I wouldn't be surprised with another small resale...

Would of rather it was FM, Blur, Muse, Bowie, Prince AC/DC any of the rumours we have previously had. Looks like a stroll over to the Chems.

Right, so now the writings on the wall, who first predicted The Who, and on what page?

Edit:

1054, and not even a serious suggestion.

nice digging :D

It amazes me that in that time Matt42 hadn't predicted them at some point, you know in his final final final anti-penultimate prediction for October or something.

In fairness, it's not exactly the worst thing Pete Townshend has done recently is it?
