it was a different age. back then it seemed like everyone was at it, like it was expected. who could have imagined the harm it would one day cause? it all seemed so innocent at the time.

I can't stand The Enemy! Awful band with and awful appearance, the whole Lad thing about some music makes me very ill. it's part of the reason I hate Kasabian, almost all of Oasis, and that music generally. It makes me cry at night.

I have an Air Traffic tshirt at home from when I saw them supporting Pigeon Detectives I think, they were absolute dross, mind. In truth the entire evening was appalling. A night of landfill indie and emo shite.

and early 00`s!.....indeed remember jj72? such a whiney voice on the singer used to drive me nuts!

I liked JJ72 - had to be in the right mood for the voice but they had some decent songs.

Best 00s indie bands to fold inside 2-3 albums - Hope of the States are well up there.

Live forever, Whatever are not "lad" songs. If "lads" sing them then fair enough.

Admittedly there is a lot of Oasis I do like but on the whole I find them quite boring and uninspiring. Maybe not Lad Rock as such but they definitely attract that type of person. And it's something I can't stomach tbh.

then I discovered Porcupine Tree and Godspeed you! Black Emperor and haven't looked back ...although im now a huge music snob

Saw Porcupine Tree at their last ever gig (to date anyway) at the RAH - absolutely stunning.

They were down to play Avalon in 1998 but due to the conditions, Avalon was closed the whole weekend and they didn't get a chance to play.

I think ME owes them another shot if they ever decide to get together again.

Then again, Steven Wilson would work well on WH or Avalon or Acoustic.

Hope of the States were fantastic, the debut is possibly my favourite album of this millenium.
