Keeping British acts coming through to put them in a position to headline seems more about them playing lower down to me rather than headlining now.

That's a fair comment. She said that in relation to Kasabian playing on the Sunday last year, but it could equally apply to lower placed acts. Personally, I couldn't give a toss if they're British. The quality is more important to me. Is there anyone who'd prefer Noel Gallagher over Prince?

I honestly think it could be Sheeran. He's at the height of his fame right now .. And would tick the solo artist, from UK, bump up etc.

I know he's in San Fransisco on Friday 26th June .. But he could fly back next day .. Play on the Saturday and get back to Denver for the 29th June. Quite easy with the hours you get back flying to the USA.

He doesn't have a band he would need to bring, and I'm sure he'd be fully up for doing it. This opportunity may never happen again for him .. His 3rd album could flop and he could be back busking on the streets.

Put this on this forum afew months gao, my friend who works for a tour booking agency in Dublin heard that Glasto were 'lining him up'. But he hardly seems like he would give Glasto the run around.

I can, too.

While I wouldn't say that rules him out entirely, it's lessened my thinking towards it being Prince.

Back to the drawing board.

Is this what you heard yesterday or new info on top of what you heard yesterday that made you question Prince?

Has anyone made a jump in position as big as that without any new material?

Apart from Florence (and her band) I cannot now put a name down of a single Solo act as per yesterday's thinking that it could be.

Maybe we should discuss bands again, have we mentioned any recently :sarcastic:

Or maybe just slowly accept that you may well be getting flo? :P

    • I'm not sure about the entrance but it wouldn't be a surprise to find the festival have secured use of the land from Steanbow who own it for either new CV space, or for authorised off-site camping as they did with Worthy View.  An authorised off-site pitch-your-own with decent facilities priced just below WV would fly off the shelves as an option.
    • Burnham needs to hold onto his seat , plus needs labour to hold onto all those other seats that could go Reform, so I think some blue labour stuff might stay...and it will be back to the tactic of hoping enough left/liberal voters will get behind labour and not go Green in order to stop a Reform govt...obviously wasn't working with Starmer, but might with Burnham if he shows enough leg. Have to see, Burnham is going from a cushty job where he's very popular and seen as successful to probably the most difficult job going, prime minister of this country...and his popularity might not last long when people realise he can't fix all the problems over night. What he can do is give a sense of direction and optimism which is badly needed, but he will also be faced with a whole bunch of nasty trade offs and could be where Starmer is now in a matter of months.
    • Yep, The Cure and The xx are the two most painful misses for me this year. The Cure literally plays at every corner, except the one I attend to.
    • There’s going to be a Táncdalfesztivál thingy which is going to be some kind of retro party from the 60’s and 70’s with Hungarian acts. Not much info about it yet, but they mentioned it at the press conference when announced the 3 others.
