I know the 'thingy' is going around with the announcement dates from previous years but has anyone any clue about times?

it was 8am last year for the initial poster.

7pm in May for the larger lineup with stage breakdowns and Metallica.

not sure about previous years.

I swear the lineup with TBC came out during balances last year, it's not impossible that they'd release it without the intention of boosting sales.

I'm of the impression now that I'll get it when I get it, I've had too many palpitations and episodes because of this lineup already

Yeah it did, it came out on the thursday of the payment window, the difference with this year is basically the petition, whilst it won't do anything and the majority of people who signed didn't have tickets, I believe it got as many as festival capacity which is quite a lot of people so it could have had an impact though it's highly unlikely

Maybe the bands / artists of this day and age are getting greedier with their demands for appearance fees, and the delay is down to the bookers still negotiating with several bands?

If they rush the line up out - maybe they are losing bargaining and negotiating power? And this year they have taken a different approach when booking acts? Would fit in with what Neil has said in regards to the new approach this year, and the reduced number of self confirmations, as well as several bands seem to 'think' they're playing, but aren't sure when and where.

This would make more sense than some of the crazy theories as to why the line up hasn't been published yet.

Word from Neil was that whoever the headliners are, the deals were made weeks ago.

Somebody else here recently said that they're essentially ready to go but that the release was 'complicated'. That does lend itself to ongoing negotiations about the timing of an announcement of people they've already booked.

I can only think of one particularly fussy artist...

Really hoping its today! Even if its 7pm tonight, they would have a good idea that the petition hasn't made a difference to the balance payments by then surely?

So it could be tonight! Too hopeful for my own good.

To be honest, having it tomorrow morning would actually make sense.

Balances paid up, and you can't really say that the 10 000 or so resale tickets (I'm guessing it's that many) would have an effect on the 3rd headliners' fans buying huge amounts of tickets.

I'm sure they never publish the amount of tickets in the resale, but do we have sources who can give us a ballpark figure? It would be a fascinating statistic on the back of the way it's played out this year.

I thought Neil said he reckons it's around 10,000 most years.

I think it would be really cool if no-one knew the lineup until you turned up to the festival and got your free programme on the Wednesday/Thursday. This thread would go into melt-down though.

I don't think it will be today but I am hoping to be proven wrong. Come on P***** you know you want to play Glastonbury!

When Metallica were announced everyone believed that Iron Maiden should be playing instead to which i believe they said that Glastonbury would the be the worst place in the world for them to play (or something along those lines)

could be waiting to find out when/if brucey can tour again(recovering from treatment for throat cancer currently). you could be onto something there........in my wildest dreams id hope beyond hope as I fucking love maiden.....but its a very very very very very outsider shot in the dark.

Ah yes. I remember now. Just saw they are been pushed on iTunes. Obviously that means nothing in regards to Glasto but reminded me of them
