What happens to tickets that people refund/cash in after resale?

They have little secret sales. Only way of finding out is to either stalk the Seetickets sites or there are apps/software you can get to 'inform' you when the sites goes active again

If we stopped all acts with an ego playing....the line up would be shit.

Enough with the "fuck Prince and his ego".

Same goes for kanye

Same goes for pretty much most stars! The Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have got gigantic Ego's, Beyonce, U2, etc - why do noone mention it about them! You have to have an ego to get to the top - Dave Grohl is probably one of the few exceptions. I saw Prince last year, and all I can say is he's amazing, I've not seen many better live acts in my life! So who gives a toss if he's got a massive ego!

Same goes for Kanye as well - as long as he doesn't have a rant, he's incredibly good live!!

I'd love to know what sort of payment the headline acts do get, just out of interest.

Always hear 'low payday' banded about but I don't think I've ever heard a rough figure. It's still got to be reasonably big.. surely

yeah i would love to see the exact figures and how this compares to other fests, i think finding out exactly how all the money is spent would be extremely interesting

In the past they have sold them as coach packages. If you are willing to travel by coach from a destination that may not be near your home then you will get a ticket. I've heard of people on here travelling to Scotland from the South of England then getting a coach back down, that is really wanting to go! I dropped my friend off in Taunton on the way down the year before last after getting a ticket for her mid May after the final refund date and we live in Manchester!

I read somewhere a couple of years ago that Glasto headliners get about £250k to perform while Reading/Leeds get closer to £1 million (admittedly for two gigs).

I've heard before that they get a free cheese from the farm!! And am sure I heard it was bout £100-200k or something for headlining (Michael has said he paid £200k to Paul McCartney + Coldplay)- not a paltry amount, whereas they could get at least £1m, if not a lot more for headlining other festivals, Reading etc? But this isn't the whole story anyway - the media coverage for Glasto is on another planet to any other festival, so whilst they only get a small percentage in payment, it's worth it because of the album sales that they get in the following weeks, both most recent albums and their back catalogue!!

The secret resales were probably the greifiest few days of 2014 for me trying to secure 3 extra tickets for friends that hadn't had any success in the main sale and were completely hopeless at stalking the site.

So glad I'll be avoiding them this year.

I remember reading this Clash Music article about Build A Rocket Boys... 1751% !!!

It's probably still about 10x the amount that a normal person makes in a year!!

I reckon it must be The Stone Roses, that's who looks most likely to me at this point. Roses fans can look forward to a double whammy of The Stone Roses finally paying their debt to Glastonbury, two decades hence, and a rousing performance from the world's foremost exponent of country pop bangers, Ms T. Swift, directly before the Roses take to the stage.

And I for one would be delighted with that! The stuff about Emily being followed (on Twitter) by Kanye, Foos and... The Stone Roses, seems like a bit of a giveaway too.

The stone roses don't follow anyone on Twitter and haven't been active since April 2014 Edited by EmsieXxX

I'll be slightly disappointed if it is the Stone Roses! Love Indie music, love their stuff, used to Live in Manchester, and have never been as disappointed by a band as when I saw them at V a few years ago!! I know it's V Festival, but I expected a legendary set from THE Legendary Indie band pretty much of all time! I've seen Ian Brown before, and even met the bloke, and bloody loved him, so I'm not going down the typical road of slagging him off, but they really just didn't do it for me and my mates, all massive fans expecting a magical gig!

Hopefully if it is them, then they will prove me wrong - and maybe it just didn't click that night, but it was just too quiet a set (most of the kids round us just didn't know much about them, but you could hear them all chatting the whole time rather than the Roses), John Squire was off doing his own twiddling bits in between every song that just became a bit tedious, and somehow the set became quite boring at times in the middle. The great stuff was brilliant, but there was just something that felt a bit of a let down to us all. Especially after the Killers had unexpectedly absolutely smashed it the night before!!

Other way round then, soz ;)

She's been following them since 2012..

Also, following that logic, we can look forward to performances from James Corden, David Walliams, Fearne Cotton and willutalk this year, excellent.

V's much more of a Killers crowd than a Stone Roses one to be fair

Stone roses were class at V I thought.

As for Emily following them, god knows how I remember but early August 2012 she tweeted a picture where she'd seen the Roses perform a fairly intimate gig and said something along the lines of that they were on top form.

When I saw Ian brown play reading 2009 I felt the same, didn't do it for me at all

I saw him in Sydney and he was brilliant!! It was when he'd started playing a few Stone Roses, not long after he'd released Solarized, and bloody loved him! I have heard that Heaton Park was a brilliant gig, but I think it probably depends on the crowd! You can't live in Manchester and not have total love for them, but at V, it was full of teenage Scousers who didn't really know much about them, so didn't get into it, and just ended up chatting the whole time! Hopefully there will be more fans at Glasto!!

Christ, we're really plumbing the depths if we're now basing headline rumours on who Emily follows lol. Desperate, desperate stuff.

Still, there goes the weekly 'Stone Roses to headline based on nothing' klaxon

Honk, honk, honk!
