i'd be very surprised if they haven't announced the lineup before the final cancellation date - that would be a pretty deplorable move that i could understand negativity towards. but now, as it is, people have ages to cancel their ticket, and there's no real rush for the lineup apart from our desperation to see it

This is an argument that winds me up and seems to be a common one on here. We might have ages to cancel tickets but it would be nice to know something in advance so people have a chance to do something else if they don't fancy the lineup when it is announced. Other festivals sell out and holidays need to get booked in at work so the later GF leave it the less chance people have to arrange anything else to spend their hard-earned on. Eavis is always going on about how he wants to make it fair on everyone but leaving the lineup so late is only really fair on those of us who have been before and don't give a toss what the lineup is. Thankfully I'm one of them but I if was a newbie I'd be pretty peeved that I'm expected to fork out £250 for a couple of Headliners, a bunch of hearsay and the words of comfort from a load of veteran Glastonbury obsessives on an Internet forum.

Small poster tomorrow or we won´t see it until after the resale is my guess. For me personally it doesn´t really matter, I just want a couple of weeks listening to "new" bands.

Which rumored headliner will draw the most people?

The media/dj/other artists/late night areas will get hysterical if P plays and the blanket coverage will encourage a very large crowd to begin, but dont know what proportion will stick around like the Stones despite the likelihood of an outstanding live performance.

Hop Farm wasn't 'held back' by Prince it was a late deal done at the last minute. Vince Power is hardly a shining example of how to run a festival is he?

I don't know how many more times I have to say it but Prince has confirmed festival shows months & months in advance before. When he's announced for things last minute, that isn't because he's made anybody wait to announce it, it's usually because he's only signed up at the last minute because that's the way he likes to do things.

Also, who the fuck is 'Davis'? :P

Haha David is what my phone called it with the update supposedly better keyboard haha. If that's the case then I don't see why not now? Speaking of festivals though The Eagles and Morrissey both topping that year was top.

From a pure business perspective I suspect it'll be before the resale. But who knows.

They're pretty much guaranteed to sell out anyway, so it might not make too much difference to them. They can do basically whatever they want at this point, they'll still sell all the tickets :P

Have we got any more clues since I last looked here? Still Prince / Taylor Swift / Florence/

while i have some sympathy with the point you make, it surely isn't for the organisers - on top of organising Glastonbury - to start having to second guess the wishes of people who may be a bit undecided. i think wanting them to consider when other festivals sell out, or peoples' work holiday rotas is a bit much.

they're entitled to run their festival as they see fit, and nobody is obliged to buy a ticket. that demand is so high suggests that, currently, they are doing things well. maybe things will change in the years to come, but for now this is the system. nothing has changed from when they said the line up will be out in spring/april - something which was common knowledge when tickets went on sale.

it's not ideal for 100% of people, nothing is. but they aren't doing something they said they wouldn't. everyone knows the deal.

Hahahahahahahahaha

You are so fully of shit it is unreal. Please tell me you don't actually believe what you write on here.

Lol, please confirm I was never this bad, an artist (for some reason) doesn't like gigs that will make him more money?!! I guess his on the spot £50 + gigs don't count then and his rare Coachella slot that would not have been peanuts for Golden Voice!

Also, Raheem Sterling doesn't want 150k at a foreign club :L

I reckon it must be The Stone Roses, that's who looks most likely to me at this point. Roses fans can look forward to a double whammy of The Stone Roses finally paying their debt to Glastonbury, two decades hence, and a rousing performance from the world's foremost exponent of country pop bangers, Ms T. Swift, directly before the Roses take to the stage.

or just about anybody who stands on a stage, performing their creations in front of a croud, usually for money.

it'd be pretty hard to be a performer without a decent ego.

i'm not so sure about the "for the money" part as Glasto is a very low payday

What happens to tickets that people refund/cash in after resale?

The secret resales! Which are pretty much a 3 day non-stop party on efests, let me tell you.

I'd love to know what sort of payment the headline acts do get, just out of interest.

Always hear 'low payday' banded about but I don't think I've ever heard a rough figure. It's still got to be reasonably big.. surely

i don't mean 'purely in it for the money', nor soley Glastonbury. but i'd assume the majority of those people performing for us would expect some form of remuneration.
