On the whole, In Your Honor is my least favourite of theirs (that's solely my opinion by the way), but Echoes isn't far off. I haven't listened to the new album yet, so I can't comment on that. Where would you say it ranks along with the others?

it's joint last for me with Echoes. thought Wasting Light was a massive return to form but this new one is very poor

Sonic Highways has some ace tracks on it, but I find myself turning off or skipping in the second half of the album.

yeah it starts off well but then reaches tedium by the end (although i constantly and unwillingly find myself having the chorus to I Am The River stuck in my head)

Playing with Gruff week after next when I see him at Brudenell in Leeds.

Still think he's a bigger trumpet than Grohl. Anyone who spells their name "Kliph" must be.

aye. I'm seeing them too, 11 feb. He's a good drummer, but yeh a cockish name I cannot deny it.

He lived the dream though, flaming lips were his favourite band and he got to play drums for them for a decade.

There's a reason for more covers than usual on this tour, so I imagine there'll still be a few on the Glastonbury sets.

but at the expense of some great songs - the Foos setlists are starting to look more and more like a greatest hits set (which usually, i'd be all for, except that they now play barely any album tracks - all singles - which is incredibly boring if you've already seen them live before). need more album tracks in there to shake things up. i'd happily see the likes of Learn To Fly ditched in favour of an album track from the first three albums

Yeah, but 2008 had Battles subbing The Park. Not a lot of people know this, but that's the best performance the festival has ever seen.

And there'll be (hopefully more than) a few hidden gems scattered throughout the line-up this year too. If Burt Bacharach is on Sunday lunchtime that'll be me done for the day....

There's also the "they do it for free (or very little) so more money goes to charity, but that (for me) justifies them returning, but not every 4 festivals. Maybe once a decade.

Once every 4 festivals sounds really bad...............

Do you know what sounds worse? Once every friggin 3!!

2015 will be their 4th time in the last 12 fests! Even the biggest Coldplay fan must recognize that that is fucked up!

I'm actually a pretty big fan of Sonic Highways. It's probably my third favourite behind Nothing Left to Lose and Colour and the Shape. Wasting Light slots in right behind it and then there's a bit of a gap with the rest.

I'd say their self titled is definitely up there too. Colour and the Shape is probably my favourite, then I'd probably rank the debut, Nothing Left to Lose and Wasting Light in the join second slot. After that, you're right, there's a biiiig gap between the rest

    • Kind of crackers how fast this summer seems to be sailing by. But aye, must be some news soon!
    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • Liddle: "Drop a small nuclear bomb on Glastonbury to immediately remove from our country almost everybody who is hugely annoying.”   Farage: Free speech!    Polanski: accepts a collaboration on 20 innocuous looking set of photos on instagram but doesn't notice that one that says 'making plans for Nigel' with a guillotine image.   Farage: I expect the MET police to arrest him.
    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
