Re. the orig question, The Blues Band (with Paul Jones from Manfred Mann) are playing the Acoustic tent on Friday, which should be excellent.

But don't know of any more specific blues acts unfortunately.

All the decent blues guys are dead unfortunately. Few still left. Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, Billy Boy Arnold and a few others.

Eavis needs to give Billy Boy Arnold a shout. His calender is 100% empty.

Great didn't know that!

On the Thursday night they had Seth Troxler and Visionquest doing 7 hours back 2 back on there from 8pm til 3am.

One of the highlights of the festival for me - except for the over zealous security over there.

Hope they have something similar this year - Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann would do nicely.

another thumbs up for Vintage Trouble who are indeed excellent!

Also check out North Mississippi Allstars in the Avalon Tent (I know I will be, they're one of my "must-sees")

Thank you Rumblestripe - NM Allstars look really good, have them on my list now.

I missed Vintage Trouble last time so also hope to catch them...

Sadly Bourbon Street isn't there any more - at least I don't think so. If it returns it's a great bar well worth visiting with all sorts of ad hoc bluesy people playing there. Line up displayed on a chalk board outside. Have seen some good sets there.

I Like George Ezra & Hozier are doing quite well, Thanks for the tip on Vintage Trouble sound ace. Would love to see Curtis Harding over here one day.

Jonny Lang is playing Avalon. Saw him last month supporting Tedeschi Trucks Band in Paris. Check out the track 'A Quitter Never Wins' and tell me that's not the Blues.

Great! Seems theres lots going on in Avalon this Glasto! Never really spent a lot of time there.

Thanks for all the tips,I look forward to checking them out on youtube.

I did go and see Gary Clark Jnr. in one of the tents last year(cant remember which tent) and he was excellent.

My absolute favourite of all time is Blind Willie Johnson,it is a shame that virtually all the best are now dead!

    • Was volunteering at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Southampton yesterday. Was great fun.
    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
