Reckon Morrissey will be back next year? 2015

New album in July, doesn't seem to be touring the UK heavily this year.

Pyramid sub or do you think he could pull off an other headline? For an older act he's always seemed to keep young fans, I think he could pull an other headline slot off pretty well!

I can imagine he would be the type of act that Glasto would bring back

For anyone who saw him in 2011 how was he? I'm trying to find the video on youtube now.

in 2011 he wasn't great, it was a little slow. His voice was good, but the choice of tunes were not great for me. The crowd didn't get into it that much. (the weather didn't help) and Radiohead were doing a "secret set". A lot went to that instead.

However I saw him in Manchester in 2012 and he was excellent. Beefed up a few tunes too.

Definitely would be a better slot headlining the Other Stage. But I think he prefers the TV Coverage that a sub-headline slot would provide.

Personally I thought his set in 2011 was really good, except for the new songs which didn't even end up making the cut for his next album...

Thought Moz was terrible in 2011, didn't look as if he could be bothered and butchered too many Smiths songs.

Having seen Johnny Marr live I'd love to see Marr get back together with the other members of the Smiths (bar Moz as I don't think it will ever happen otherwise) - write some new material, call themselves something other than The Smiths (because that From The Jam thing is just embarrasing) and drop a few Smiths songs live to keep everyone on board but mostly just get that band writing new material again. A touch of nostalgia which I'm guessing what people would expect but Johnny's solo album was fantastic - I'd love to see what would be produced from that.

I saw the first few songs in 2011 and thought he was amazing and then stupidly left to see Radiohead, who were shit. Would love to have him back.

Anyone hear the news the other day that he's been invited to appear on The Archers? They played a clip off his appearance on Brookside when reporting it on 6music. Hilarious.

I'm one of those weird Morrissey obsessives that you sometimes come across, then make all efforts to never encounter that person again. Hi.

He's fantastic live, and I would like to see him play Glastonbury, but I don't know how likely it is as he's never enjoyed festivals (but at the same time has played loads, so he's not even close to being completely ruled out). He compared Glatonbury to the trenches in his autobiog, but considering how miserable and bitchy the book was, that actually ranks as one of the nicest things he said in it. I have to admit that he's not really had a great live band since the 90s, but the bunch of herberts he's got now are perfectly capable of sheer bombastic showmanship, even if they aren't that brilliant. I highly recommend the aborted DVD concert Live At The Hollywood Bowl which is available on Youtube.

I'm glad that the Morrissey and Marr reunion will never happen, Morrissey has been solo for over 5 times longer than he was a Smith, it's 30+ years ago, they're so far removed from how they were at that point that it just wont ever work. Then there's also the 25 years of excellent solo work that he's not going to just ignore.

I do worry that the old man might have lost it of late though, I'm normally a huge Morrissey apologist, to a fault, (case in point; I always argue that even Kill Uncle and Maladjusted are both well worth listening to!) but I think his new single is absolute dogshit, and the concert film he put out last year was fucking disgraceful. He's reacted to being painted a pantomime villain in the press by surrounding himself with yes-men. I hope he's good the next time I see him, but I'm not expecting much.

I'm a big fan and loved him in 2011, althought I seem to be in the minority on that one. I'd seen him the previous weekend in a 1000 capacity which venue was an amazing gig and showed how versatile he can be. I love people moaning he was too grumpy and bitchy at Glastonbury, as if he's ever anything else. Looking forward to him announcing some UK dates off the back of the new record.
