Gate with the shortest queue

Wonder if people could advise which gate tends to have the shortest queue on the Wednesday morning?

I'm still not really "up on" the gate situation! I'm not the driver, but I know we always go blue route?? Both years the queues have been hideous!!! But apparently that's the best way for us to go camping at kidney mead..... Anyone inform me of any better?!?

We've always been at gate D and its not been too bad

It depeneds what you call bad I suppose... cos we are always too excited and happy to be there that the queues arent really a massive issue

Its an excuse to have a beer chat to folk and make the most of it

The queue is part of the fun IMO. If you waltz straight through in 5 mins, you would be disappointed.

Need to wait about an hour!

Whichever gate you choose, it will be the longest. And after hours queueing you'll get in and meet some smug bugger who says he only queued for 10 minutes at Gate blah-di-blah.

On wednesday morning there will be massive queues at every gate. Park where is most convenient for your journey home and walk to the nearest gate. There is no point worrying about it. You will queue, but you will also get in.

B will be the shortest, everyone head there, tell everyone you know to head there, tell them to pass this on to everyone they know.

In the meantime i will be making plans to get in via gate C

It's pure luck and completely unpredictable. Also, as soon as people start posting 'gate x has the shortest queue', people will flock there and make it the busiest queue.

There will be queues at all the gates, the queues will be biggest at opening time and will die down into the afternoon. Some gates will have bigger queues than others, some will move faster than others, but what happened one year is no measure of what will happen the next year.

If you want to get in at opening time expect to queue.

If you don't want to queue arrive later.

it varies - C was hell in 2011 and B was hell in 2013. Some of my mates travelled separately to my group, got to gate C and walked straight in. This was around 8.30am on Wednesday.

Gate D nearly broke me in 2011. The little hill to get up to the gate had turned into a veritable mudslide. 5 hours of queuing in the rain did not make a fun start to the week for me. (this was approx 6am - 11am Wed).

Finally get to the last bit of queue at the gate itself, phone rings from a friend who had arrived in his car at about 10.30am. He also was in queue to gate D but came in from the carpark at the top of the little hill. Said friend is less than 3 people behind me asking me what all my whinging had been about as he'd just had "a nice gentle stroll to gate D, easiest year ever"

I think I may have sworn at that point.

Avoid the gate which connects to the coach drop off point, they let people through in batches and it took forever in the pissing rain in 2011 as there's also all the people getting of the coaches at that gate too.

Edit: It looks like other people had the same problem! It was my worst Glastonbury experience I reckon.

Gate A was the same in 2011. There seemed to be some sort of problem that meant that the coach people were being let in ahead of everyone in the normal queue - presumably they decided it was unsafe to have people queuing in the area where the coaches are turning etc., and they were probably right.
