Backstage Passes

Been told by a friend that he can get my group Silver Hayes backstage passes this year.

Anyone had anything like this before? Anyone been to a backstage area at Glastonbury before?

Will I be able to get free booze?

nope. Last time I went backstage in that area it didn't even have a bar, but I'm told it does nowadays. Why haven't I been there? There's better places to be.

The chances of seeing anyone famous are probably small.

I had full backstage access everywhere at reading festival last year and to be honest backstage isnt as great as it sounds! You won't get free booze, only artists get that in their rider and it will be mainly full of people who are quite stuck up ha and very wealthy.

Glasto May be different however from my experience last year I would choose being I'm a crowd jumping along with everyone else and my matea. Atmosphere is miles better!

I get a backstage silver Hayes every year, there is a bar, the most handy thing I find is u get to cut thru and walk back stage at busy times and cut out people traffic! I've met a few djs, but it's really not that big back there!

I got backstage at the glade once, Without namedropping my uncle was formerly in a band that was playing there so I got in to say hello to them all. (they happen to be there again this year)

wasn't a lot there!

The only advantage of back stage access at any festivals are cut throughs and toilets that tend to be closer to the area than the public ones.

Aside from that, it's usually a pretty soulless place.

Thanks guys. Seems to be not all its cracked up to be? Disappointing...

But will probably be fun to have a look round first time.

Where would the Silver Hayes backstage be a cut through to? The pyramid round the back, or is it on the other side (BBC Introducing).

On our travel back to the Netherlands last year, we met a cool looking fellow Dutch man, aged maybe 55-60 years old. A real hippie and world traveler.

We had a short conversation, since I was triggered by a Shangri-la Crew wrist band he was wearing. I asked him if he actually worked in the Shangri-la (couldn't imagine)?

That's a long story, he explained...

In fact, he didn't manage to get tickets, but to get some of the atmosphere, he had decided to travel with a suitcase to Glastonbury town. Maybe he could sit somewhere on a hill watching the Festival...

On Tuesday he was sitting in a bar somewhere in Glastonbury town where apparantly he met crew members of the Shangri-la.

When he explained his situation, in the end they unanimous decided that such a cool looking guy should be at Glastonbury Festival and they gave him a back stage Shangri-la Crew wrist band.

So he actually went on site for the whole week, slept in the trailers of the crew, and could literally go everywhere. He then told us he even came across a certain Mick Jagger, seriously

For me, it was a very inspirational man, and it proved that if you really want something, there's always a way.

I get Pyramid and Other pass.

Benefits are shortcuts (serious time saved) flushing loos with soap and water.

Downside is the hospitality bar is full of twats who are pretending to be famous and Hoorah Henry's who paid well over the odds for their ticket

The only reason I'd want a backstage pass is for that cut through, May have to do some asking about and find one... I'd rather spend my time elsewhere

I've been "backstage" at lots of events and its soooooooo boring, just buses and trucks

I got Dance Village (now called Silver Hayes) backstage passes in 2010.

I went behind the veil to find:

* A private campsite

* 2 showers and two portaloos

* Some miserable people who told me to piss off

The real backstage is the one behind the pyramid and even then, as a few have said on here, it's dead.

Wouldn't have minded one of those showers though...

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
