I honestly can't remember it raining for that long on the Thursday last year - I could have sworn it was an hour or two at most! I remember trekking to meet my friend at a gate Thursday night and thinking there was a little bit of mud, but if that's what 8 hours sustained rain does to a dry ground, I'm feeling optimistic about this year's light showers!

Same! I remember standing in the Rum Shack drinking to blur the rain away, heard one girl whine and thought 'why are you crying, we're here!' ...and I'm pretty sure the rain disappeared after that! Optimistic here also!

thursday shows 19 degrees day, 12 overnight from where i'm sitting

in fact the overnight temprature is better than all other days , mostly 10 overnight

Still holding firm that its only Friday with a couple of hrs of "heavier than light" rain

in afternoon... Not enough to dampen things I think

Started raining at 2-3pm but lightly and stopped.. then it started heavily around 4:30ish I think as I was by the cider bus. It rained till about 9-10pm at least. It also briefly rained for an hour first thing on Friday

I think we'll be golden. As has been said, the ground is perfect, and any rain on Thursday/Friday shouldn't be too much of an issue. Surely be fine to sit down by Saturday if those two days are all the rain we're getting!

This will be my 9th Glastonbury and I honestly don't think I will ever see it as bad as it was on Brown Friday in 2005. That was bonkers. I remember getting woken up about 5am by the crazy rain and helping some guy camped behind me who had pitched his tent but didn't have any pegs.

I think that's what the kids nowadays call an "epic fail".

Found this video that shows just how horrible it was at the bottom of Pennard hill first thing on Friday morning in 2005.

2005 - 18 year old me at her first glastonbury. Didn't have wellies and took a single skinned tent, which I spent most of Friday morning bailing out water from with paper cups. Fell out with my best friend that weekend, never seen her again. She didn't float away the rain just made her a c*nt.

Never again with the daft wide eyed ignorance. You could tell me it's 100% going to be a 2010 affair and i will still pack my wellies.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
