Maybe coming up with some acts other than the headliners will cheer us up.

I'll be hoping for:

Band of Skulls

Catfish & The Bottlemen

Circa Waves

Death From Above 1979

Enter Shikari

Feeder

Frightened Rabbit

The Gaslight Anthem

Idlewild

Lonely The Brave

Madeon

Nero

Pulled Apart By Horses

Royal Blood

Twin Atlantic

Wolf Alice

The Xcerts

Young Guns

Why do Muse seem unlikely? The thought of Kasabian again is so depressing.

The Libertines or Florence + The Machine

Kanye West and big dance headliner (Avicii, David Guetta etc)

Muse

I could settle for that, provided there were some good options elsewhere.

Tbh mate the thought of Florence and guetta again is mind numbingly boring and depressing.

Kasabian are one of the best live bands on the planet.

If they could get muse and the prodigy as the other headliners that would bring the crowds back.

Purely because they only started recording their new album this month, doubt it'll be ready for next summer.

Florence I could give a shot. Guetta I agree, is mind numblingly boring.

Yeah Kasabian are a good live band, but I've seen them so many times.

Prodigy would be a great addition. But I feel like they're in a weird place where they're a bit too big to headline R1 stage, but not quite popular enough just now to headline the main. Maybe the new album will push them back up to headline status for good.

This looks most likely to me at the moment, possibly The Black Keys 'co-headlining' with Flo

Are The Black Keys big enough for that? Before Turn Blue I'd have said yes but now I'm not too sure, it didn't seem to be that well received. Not sure how well their arena tour is selling on the whole but they haven't sold out The Hydro.

Muse have just been announced for a festival in Vienna, so they're definitely around. At the moment I'd go with them, Florence and Kasabian as headliners.

I`d go with these 3 as well though maybe some shit DJ on Saturday with Muse or Florence Friday and Kasabian on Sunday. Think Chvrches will get a good slot after stepping in last minute for London Grammar this year.

Do we know the capacity of the new site ? I remember thinking when it was announced that it looked quite a bit smaller.

I'd say that enough time has passed for Avicii's Glasgow debacle to be forgotten and he could potentially be the Saturday night dance act. Although that slot COULD go to The Prodigy. Means that they're not exactly an all out headliner as well, but being last on the bill on the main stage should be enough of a pull for them. Plus, they'd go down a storm. I'd agree that it'd be Florence and the Machine on before whoever that happens to be.

Don't rule out The Script as a potential headliner though. They're doing good business right now and have moved up the bill slowly but surely. Muse would make sense, but something about it doesn't really sit with me. I'd say Coldplay on the Sunday night, fuck knows on the Friday and Florence/Prodigy on the Saturday.

I could see The Black Keys as a sub headliner. Other potentials for me are...

Idlewild

Jessie J

Young Fathers

Alt-J

The Kooks

American Authors
The Drums

The Ordinary Boys

Lily Allen
Echo and the Bunnymen

Placebo

The Vaselines

Basement Jaxx

The Enemy

The Twang

Madness ( aye, we can dream )

Funeral for a Friend

First Aid Kit

Jessie Ware

Alvvays

Charlie Simpson
Grant Nicholas

Prides

Jason Mraz

Interpol

Royal Blood

George Ezra

Sam Smith

Warpaint

The Subways

Gun
Train

Belle and Sebastian

I'm not sure about a lot of them, but I wouldn't be surprised to see many of them in the undercard. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds potentially another sub headliner with The Black Keys?
