Really pleased to see this, but in all honesty can Debbie remember the words still? I saw a gig of theirs some time ago on TV and i don't know whether she was pissed or something but she couldn't remember the lyrics and stumbled through the set, it was embarrassing! Indeed i had to turn over in embarrassment for her. Now Debbie was one of my teenage hearthrobs back in the days of Parrellel Lines, and the years have aged us both, i am taking some 30 yeard ago here! I still will pop along for the novalty value though and no doubt they have the songs. They were in one of my top five acts that shaped my music listenting life to date.

Indeed - and that was off the back of a comeback #1 single and a big selling compilation.

I wouldn't say their stock has remained anywhere near as high.

nor have their performances. Debbie's voice isn't what it was.

But this year is supposed to be a big celebratory year for them, with a release of a new greatest hits album combined with an album of new stuff.

I can think of acts who were less loved by the British public in their time, one example being a short purple geezer.

When they played in 99, they were on at about 2pm, Pyramid on the Friday. I thought they were pretty good (though that was 15 year ago), though I'm pretty sure Debbie Harry was wearing a bumbag, which troubled me somewhat. The comeback single was Maria by the way (good tune but I'm pretty sure they haven't had a hit since).

For the record, I'm really looking forward to seeing them. Even if her voice has gone a bit, they're one of those bands that you can probably sing along to pretty much every song anyway.

For all the people questioning their performances, they put on a belter of a show at T in the Park the other year, despite being in the middle of one of the worst downpours iv experienced at a festival. The people I was with had been disappointes by other shows and they thought it was great too. So they can definitely still pull it out of the bag.

Saw Blondie on the Pyramid in 1999, I think it was. It was like someone's drunk auntie dancing on a table at a wedding, flashing her knickers at everyone while a covers band knocks out tunes.

Seen them since, at Camp Bestival, and they were a good deal better. But can't say I'd be rushing to go and watch them at Glastonbury if I had a ticket.
