Do Metallica do much Load stuff live these days? Would fucking love to hear this at the Pyramid.

the only Load / ReLoad song i think we have a chance of getting is Fuel. apart from that they rarely play anything from those two albums anymore

gave St. Anger the full listen at the gym a couple of days ago so think i'm gonna go for Load and ReLoad next time. don't recall them being that bad (although miles off the first four / five albums)

they aren't too bad. Infinitely better than St. Anger (obviously), and if you take them for what they are and avoid making comparisons between them and the first five albums then they hold up pretty well.

Metallica could headline every night thinking about....

There's the diehard first four album fans,

There's the hardcore black album/load/reload fans

Plus they could go all night with an orchestra like s&m

And that's not even counting all the new stuff plus Garage Ink

Can I say, I've no idea about JayZ or Beyonce songs. Guess what, I didn't see them. I think they are shit.

I really like Metallica. Guess what, I'd love to see them.

Hey folks, that's Glastonbury festival.

Ticks and Leeches is on an album which is pretty far removed from metal though.

There are elements of metal on almost all tracks on Lateralus really, the prog element stands out more though I will give you that. I would struggle to call Tool anything other than progressive metal though but I guess that may just be me :)

I know it's off topic, and it'd never happen, but good Christ alive - imagine Rammstein headlining west Holts. Bloody hell. With the whole German thing satisfying the world music vibe, and the nighttime set, it would be astonishing. They'd melt the bloody field. Someone needs to make this happen :poundit: (whoops, wrong forum for smileys)

I couldn't understand a word they were singing, but they are by far one of the most visually stimulating bands i have ever seen.

Live, as a spectacle, only the Flaming Lips offer anything like as much of a treat. Rammstein are absolutely bloody jawdropping live. On their last tour they actually lost money, cos they didn't want to turn down the amount of pyro and machinery in their planned set - so they

subsidised it through the sales of their greatest hits album release. They're properly tongue in cheek hilarious camp metal cliche, it's such a bloody laugh live. I can't recommend them enough.

I just find it funny the amount of people im finding slagging off metallica who have barely heard anything from metallica but automatically dismiss them for the genre they are a part of. So much for all being open minded music lovers at this festival eh? open minded as long as it isnt metal eh? heard it all before, not going to argue just think its quite sad. how can you hate what you dont even know?

Don't quite get this. It's one thing being open minded to music you wouldn't usually hear when you're bumbling around and come across something in a tent. Its quite another to take two hours out of peak time at the festival to see something you're pretty sure you'll dislike just in case you don't dislike it. I've listened to the black album and the one with the cross-shaped tombstone on the front and I can safely say that I wouldn't enjoy it live - I don't see why I should sacrifice something like john grant, which I would enjoy, for the sake of 'trying something different'. I'll try plenty of different things at the festival... But when it comes to headliners, I'd rather have something I know I'd like.

I do think it's a good booking though, if only to shit up the picnic brigade at the pyramid.
