The fool that is Jonathan Kay has just confirmed himself via Facebook! :)

Although reading into it a bit more - its in Glastonbury town, sorry, not the festival - but no doubt he'll be there! Pretty much a standard fixture these days!

I like the sound of his show but have never been. I take it you'd recommend?

Tom Robinson has a new album forthcoming, so presumably he's performing.

True Pop Fact - the bloke who co-wrote and played sax on War Baby once sent me extremely graphic torture and death threats after I compared one of his comments on a forum to something that Garry Bushell might have written.

Saw Tom Robinson recently he did a warm up session in a local pub at the radio 6 music festival. He did a full set to about 30 of us who were crammed into a snug listening. He them went off to do his proper slot. It was a great afternoon he's definitely not with the EDL :/

Where did they play last year? Have to make it this year

Andrew O'Neill confirmed he'll be there. He was rushing off to get his train after his (awesome) set. So couldn't ask where when etc. but yeah defo there

Not sure if they're already confirmed anywhere but Hot Chip just confirmed

Edit: just noticed they're TBC already so ignore me :)

Still, nice to have it 'unofficially official', in black and white.

So now i can fret about where and when. I suspect sub or 3rd on Other, but I am SO hoping many of us get our wish and their given a cheeky WH headliner slot...

I'd like jamie xx to headline park

Jamie xx was confirmed on the Young Turks twitter feed, so he will definitely be playing, at least. Also, he has his new album out at the start of June, so I imagine he'll get a pretty decent slot :)

Member of the Glasto Chat page said Catfish self confirmed as JP headliners for the friday at one of their gigs?

Can anyone validate this or is it bullshit?

With them possibly on jp, foos on pyramid and people like Deadmau5 being talked about as other headliner... how many people other people are praying for Caribou on Park, or even better Patti Smith on park/west holts.

It's always friday which is the most clasheavy day.

Remember how divided this forum was when it was (in 2013)

Arctic Monkeys - pyr

Portishead - other

Crystal Castles - JP

Chic ft Nile Rogers - WH

The Horrors - Park

That was a divide.

When portishead are playing, there is no clash.

    • How much is Burnham's success down to Manchester getting a shitton of investment for public transport infrastructure?   There's no doubt he did the work, but the money dumped into Manchester for him to achieve that was huge - the most of any infrastructure project outside London ever. Did that need a mayor, or just the money?
    • Sounds good tbh.
    • Bristol was the only city in 2012 that voted for a mayor. We had a local independent who was popular, then Marvin Rees won and was so corrupt that Bristol voted to get rid of the position - having just had the WECA mayor position put in place as well.
    • They built a watering system and have been watering the island for the past few weeks to reduce dust, but given the current drought, there will still be dust. They will cover twice as much ground around the main stage with those plastic panels as they did before. They couldn't book Gogol Bordello because the singer was afraid the government would allow Russian security services to capture him if he entered the country. They didn't have much room to be selective about artists. They booked whoever they could get. This year's Sziget will be only about 50% of his original vision. He wanted a dedicated rock stage. They are preparing for a loss of 1.5 billion HUF this year. For some reason, student tickets are not selling in the numbers they had expected. He said that when he talks about the lineup being less important, he doesn't mean Sziget should have a weaker lineup than Primavera. Rather, it should have a similarly strong lineup combined with much more non-musical programming, so people from abroad come here to see the same artists but have a completely different overall experience. He didn't miss Sziget and originally wanted to spend no more than two days a week dealing with it, but now he's working on it full-time and has handed over control of the rest of his businesses.
    • Well the point seems to be 22.7% turn out doesn't suggest the majority are rushing out to support the mayoral system.
