But those that don't follow thru will definitely be picked up (if only by people who've been before and understand what else is on offer).

oh, defo.

Something like that might be an issue following another majorly wet one tho. I'm not sure that today's older attendees and more mainstream attendees that make up a significant chunk of the full numbers have the same bouncebackability to want to put themselves thru it again.

Sort of entertaining that people were using 'if you ask a person in the street how many Arcade Fire songs they knew, they'd only know two or three' to say they aren't a headliner. I can see Joe Public knowing just one, maybe two Eagles songs.

It is those people that make me fuming mad. NFiR NFC though.

I don't care if Eagles headline, I found the Pyramid field to be a horrible shithole last year, so only visiting it for Arcade Fire suits me fine. I hope there's some direct correlation between a liking of flags and a liking for Kasabian and The Eagles, I'd be very pleased for them to hoover all the pricks up and leave the Other/West Holts/Park etc nice and clear.

what with the pool of 'legendary' headliners seemingly running dry (who's left? Prince. Led Zep. Fleetwood Mac. a possible Bowie return) i do wonder if Glastonbury will be able to keep it up over the next few years

not that they need to keep up anything. more curious about if they'll continue to constantly pursue the likes of Prince or just say 'fuck it' after getting turned down year after year

With regards to the status of the headliners, I'll be happy either way. It would be great to get some must-see gigs at the Pyramid, but I'd hate for everyone I like to be on that stage, because I want to explore the site and the different area/venues. In a way I'm quite grateful that Kasabian are closing, because I'll be somewhere else, with a crowd that don't care enough about Kasabian to see them headline Glastonbury which I suspect will mean a crowd more like me, which in turn will make for a better gig wherever I am.

I would look at the set list for Hop Farm as that is what they would probably do if they played. To be fair I knew almost all of it but as I said it didnt catch fire for me in any way apart from Boys of Summer. This may have been because the crowd was full of their old fans and it was like being at an Eagles gig. I can see Hotel California going down well at the Pyramid but the way they perform is just so soulless and vacant.

Performing by numbers. They would need guests.
