Hoping for a bad line up

I'd like to preface this post by saying I am lucky enough to have a ticket for this years festival...

But is it just me hoping for a line up that is less than amazing? Or perhaps to rephrase more average with a few weird fun acts? I think a lot of what contributed to this years massive numbers trying to get tickets was The Stones last year (and to a lesser extent AM and Mumford). The Stones got so much coverage that even people who had 0 interest in Glastonbury asked me last year how they were. I know that what ever the line up it will once again be the highlight of my year so I'm kinda of hoping for just a normal average set of headliners.

This is a very perverse view I realise but just a random thought I had reading through the headliners thread!

Whoever plays, the BBC will hype the living shit out of it and have blank-faced, personality devoid presenters gushing about how wonderful it all is and making it more accessible to shit eating masses.

Edited to add a comma, they're important.

I don't buy into the idea that people decide they want to go to Glastonbury because they see, say the Rolling Stones on TV. I'm sure most aware that the Stones wont be playing this year.

But yes certainly someone like the Stones draw greater awareness of the festival (eg. the crowds having a good time, the weather-particuarly if its good) as a whole, which is what gets people excited.

As someone who has a ticket (and is paying a lot of money for that) I struggle to think why I'd wish for a bad line up!

Pretty sure I read Coldplay are releasing a new album. Or did I hear some songs and think I read it? Or did I hear their first album and think it was a new song? Are they the "blank-faced, personality devoid" people Getoffmylawn spoke of?

I didn't get a ticket this year. Wasn't too gutted about it, had a feeling a few weeks back that I was going to miss out and had come to accept it before the tickets went on sale.

Here's hoping for Coldplay

Not a bad lineup as such, just smaller less mainstream acts would do the trick.

A couple of years without stupidly big headliners would be good. In an ideal world to give the Eavi peace of mind, the sale should be a nice casual thing but sell out on the sunday in the evening, allowing everyone who wants to go, to grab their tickets.

As much as I prattle on about how I never spend time at the Pyramid Stage and how I don't really care who performs on it I always wan't at least a COUPLE big acts I like but wouldn't otherwise see because I love the LARGER THAN LIFE set up that is The Pyramid Stage. So yeah mostly mediocre mainstage with 3 bands (on per day/at least one headliner) that I WANT then all be dandy.
