Where was that even from?

Think Melvin said it at the festival last year.

Edit: Went back to try and find where it came from and it was you that posted it

Dunno if anyone's mentioned this quote from Newsbeat talking to MB. Shitty clue but more for bored people to read in to :P

'He wouldn't give too much information about who the first act confirmed are, only to say they have had an album in top 10 in the last year.'

They had one just before the 2013 festival so nearly there, I think they'd be a massive misfire though.

Can't think who could be within the two fests though with a top 10 album other than Linkin Park. Kasabian again?

Mechanical Bull came out September 2013 so KOL are still an option.

Bloody hell :sarcastic:

Looking at that confirmed act thing in the mattdavies quote, was it specified the 1st confirmed act Melvins talking about was regarding one of the headliners?

I think he was probably talking about the headliner although that's a good point, it could have been anyone on the lineup.

I'm still thinking KOL. Safe booking with a new album IMO.

It's just again am I right in thinking that neither Libertines or Metallica had an album in the UK top 10 chart in the last year (from late 2013 on anyway), meaning the last headliner will have had too? RHCP and KOL didn't, not sure about Mumford.

This is why I think linkin park are very likely.

Yeah the top 10 thing, along with them seemingly being around in August makes me think it'll be them. It's just trying to think of an undercard (especially subs) to go below both Metallica and LP. Probably just do what they did this year with Blink and have a completely different act on before them.

    • Cool, if potentially completely exhausting, idea.
    • We don't have any choice but I don't need a t-shirt for it! 🙂    On the bright side, it gets it out of the way for a nice 5 year run... notwithstanding wars, new contagious diseases and apocalypse.
