Guys I figured out our headliner, by doing some extensive research I have pieced together all the clues to find out who is it. I can gladly say that the 3rd headliner will be Mastodon!!!

  • Once More Around The Sun reached 10 in the charts. Melvin said that the headliner had a top ten album in the past year
  • They use guitars. Melvin said that all the headliners for R&L are guitar acts
  • They're not R&L regulars, they have only played the the fesitval twice. Melvin said that the headliners aren't regulars to the festival
  • Also they said they would be doing at least one festival in the UK this year, and with them being not announced for Download yet makes me think they're on about R&L and when they told all their fans Download it was just a ruse

Mastodon confirmed to headline R&L 2015

I don't know if this is serious or not but what a surprise that would be!

I'm srs! Lok at da proof man!

I think Deftones are a pretty reasonable suggestion to sub Metallica, it would need to be a strong sub for Deftones to play third nowadays

They're not a sub at R&L, they'd be playing to a small crowd. I got really close to the front in 2013 (but then again the weather was extremely bad) and therefore would be a really weak sub

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
