UP ON MELANCHOLY HILL

There's a plastic tree
Are you here with me?
Just looking out on the day of another dream

Well, you can't get what you want but you can get me
So let's set out to sea, love
'Cause you are my medicine
When you're close to me
When you're close to me

So call in the submarine
'Round the world we'll go
Does anybody know her?
If we're looking out on the day of another dream

If you can't get what you want then you come with me

Up on melancholy hill sits a MANATEE
Just looking out for the day
When you're close to me
When you're close to me

When you're close to me
CHEER UP, IT'S SUNDAY!

Nowt. It was just somewhere in UK. Guess it would mean they've either offered them and he's turned it down or they've not offered at all.

And yet:

He also took some time to bash European festivals for attempting to slot the Pumpkins in before one-hit-wonders and said he won’t be playing many again. “If we get the slots we want, we’ll come. But we’ve seen who else is on the bill, and we’re expected to go on before a band who have had one quasi-hit that’s not even that popular. Sorry, but that didn’t work for me in 1992 and it doesn’t work for me now,” he said. “How is it that the Smashing Pumpkins still sell tickets, but you’re offering me this poor slot? It’s disappointing.”

I can't find any article which directly quotes him as talking about the UK (or Europe for that matter).

The story above gives NME credit as the source, so either Corgan said Europe and NME changed it to UK to put a more relevant spin on it (after all the UK is in Europe so it could be technically correct) or these guys changed it from UK to Europe (although I'm not sure why they'd do that).

Yeah I've always thought they'd suit Bestival down to the ground but I wouldn't put it outside the realms of possibility for R+L. Both set to announce this week anyway, along with a few other European festivals, so it's quite possible they've announced they're coming back before the weekend and then the following week they're lined up for a load of festivals and an album's announced or something.

I'd say they are probably the best suited Bestival headliner I can think of, really don't think they'd suit any other festival.

Doubt they'l play glasto ever again if i'm honest.
