Yeah, I agree that despite how good they are live, Metallica always seem to headline a UK festival every year so the "wow" factor isn't so huge. But this announcement is worth it purely because it's making all the 15 year old Swim Deep fans on Twitter cry.

Most 16/17-20 odd who don't go on efestivals (we are a huge minority in our music taste when it comes to R&L) won't be bothered about Metallica. Of course there will be a few of you that are, but girls in those short denim shorts with their bum cheeks out the bottom will want to go see Clean Bandit.

Couldn't agree with this more, fuming with how shit my mates music tastes are fuck off annie mac

thing is we are so close (i live in Leeds) I just expected people to go even if they don't see the headliners or whatever... but with my mates all going to Uni and having a lack of money that line up seems to have scared them off and then crazily the year below don't seem to fancy it either!?!?

Nobody from my old school who normally camps with us (my year, year above, year below or year below them) is excited about this... jesus :( looks like Leeds Fest might be off for me

If no one from my sixth forum wants to go I will actually camp with you...not joking

If me and my mate go then you're both free to camp with us (we don't bite)

I'd a return that offer to you if my mates do want to go and you guys can't (and to anyone else that can't find people to go with and is a regular poster here, I'm actually serious)

You have open mates, mine would be awkward to the idea of a forum poster camping with us ahaha weird kids man

Kendrick Lamar to sub Metallica

Jack White klaxon.

Also, how the hell are The Courteeners playing Heaton Park? I know their fanbase is pretty much entirely comprised of people from Manchester, but they're not even close to the same magnitude as The Stone Roses and Oasis.

capacity reduced to 20k apparantly
