I know McCartney hasn't really been mentioned for next year, but have to say I'm liking his new track - despite the fact that it does sound like he's a helpful bus conductor (not my words, the words of 6 Music earlier).

Depeche Mode cannot headline Glasto, simply not a wide enough appeal. Especially looking at this years headliners.

I don't like them, but they're clearly big enough and also I get the feeling it's that kind of slightly less obvious choice of headliner that the Eavis' might go for. I can imagine them liking the idea.

That's either incredibly stupid or incredibly unfunny. Either way it's just not good.

Depeche Mode are pretty much the daddies of the whole 80s electro-pop scene. Many others came before and after, but they are probably the ones who have managed to keep a fairly big stature the longest. Headliner? Honestly couldn't imagine them on any other slot, if they were to play. Michael Eavis is looking at bands he's wanted to book, and it stands to reason Depeche Mode would be one of those bands given he clearly has a thing for the 80s.

The Cribs had better headline Park Stage or get a similar slot (please don't stick them on John Peel), I need to fill my quota of averaging 5 Cribs shows a year somehow, you know.

I'd say the issue with the heavier bands also gets taken out a notch when you have the way the ticket system works now. I keep voting for Metallica on polls that T in the Park put out. Hopefully they listen one day.
