2014 Headliner predictions

Was he?? Oh. Well, my bad. I thought he subbed T.

Obviously since 2010, and a lot more recently, he's headlined Bestival and kinda headlined Coachella (With a little help). I think of him as a pretty big draw, so I'd be really surprised to see him third on the bill next year.

I love watching the crushing realism descend as we get closer to ticket day. A week ago it was Led Zeppelin and AC/DC being discussed. Now it's Kasabian and a debate about whether a fella who played fourth on the bill in 2010 and has done nothing, apart from change his already fake name, since could headline. While it's all speculation, isn't it more fun to go with good nonsense rather than utter fodder like Kasabian?

It's going to be Zep, Mac and Bowie, until Eavis says otherwise. Which he will.

Mac and Bowie have both done it. Bowie could never top his performance that year. It was amazing. He won't be back. As for McCartney I would pay to keep him away.

I think GaGa would be interesting for the Friday night. Depeche Mode Saturday and what about Daft Punk Friday or have they had their day?

I'm sure they'd be great but let's get more personal and pretend The Sisters of Mercy are rumoured to be headlining the Sunday. I'd be very happy in the middle of an empty Pyramid field watching them on my own.

Are you on crack or not wearing you prescription lenses?

We were having a discussion, albeit a dumb one, about snoop headlining, then you pipe up and say you remember him last time he played as children watched on as he said motherfucker a billion times.

How was your comment not rubbishing snoop? And I also said in my post that I loved snoop, seen him a few times and It would be great if he was on the bill but he'd never headline!!

Nice attempt at a witty comeback...

Saw this story today

"Speaking at the premiere of frontwoman Stevie Nicks' new documentary, Mick Fleetwood told Gigwise: "We were asked to do some lovely festivals this year and it didn't work out. Once you do the festivals then you can't really do a tour of the other towns.

"We were asked to do Glastonbury this year and hopefully they'll ask us again."

When asked whether it was likely the band would play Glasto next year, he said: "I don't know - they've probably got fed up of asking us!"

About the strong a hint as you could get that Fleetwood Mac will be one of the headliners

A mix of wants and predictions. I find Kasabian extremely dull but wouldn't be surprised to see them in AM's slot next year.

Friday

Kasabian

Saturday

Eminem OR Kanye

Sunday

Fleetwood

I saw Eminem at Reading and he was amazing! Berzerk is surprisingly good so I would welcome him to Glasto, as far as I know, he hasn't played Glasto yet?

Alternatively, Yeezus is brilliant so wouldn't mind seeing Kanye headline. He is meant to be embarking on a World tour this year and next so expect him to be at a few European festivals.

I think Fleetwood Mac is a dead cert and would be perfect for Sunday headliner.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
