Mata wasn't that impressive when he first switched to Chelsea. He drifted in and out of games and in and out of form, it was only last season he was consistent at all.

To be fair, some no mark academy coach looking to get his name in the papers by spouting stuff is hardly credible. The Barkley stuff today was interesting however, even if he stopped short of having a go at Moyes. He just noted Martinez was tactically more astute. Which he is.

What a great side Everton had in the mid 80s with the likes of sheedy, Radcliffe, southall, Stevens, Steven, bracewell etc etc.

Probably best not to start that conversation, one night in Belgium, and the friendly derby was no more.

Certainly no proof that we'd of won the European Cup, but who knows? It certainly was the decline of the Everton glory years that's for sure!

Not sure about that. It was pretty friendly in the late 80s - fans at Wembley in 1986 and 1989 chanting 'Merseyside'.

Chelsea/Arsenal, which will be a Chelsea win, or a draw. I can't see Arsenal being the ones to break the Moan's unbeaten home record.

The properly interesting one is Spurs/Soton. That could go either way, but if Soton win they're hot on the heels of Spurs and likely to finish above them I reckon - they're just coming back into form whilst Spurs are dropping off from the new-manager bounce.

Im sure I went to a merseyside derby in goodison in the early 90s and it was friendly then. Do i remember Liverpool and Everton fans sitting together or maybe my mind is being tricked by older video footage I have seen on tv.
