They could use it as a reason if they wanted rid of him, I can't see why they would want rid of him though.

As for arsenal, I think they will finish below Liverpool now, but the flaws of spurs will keep them safe. Arsenal are so frustrating, they do all the hard work and get in a position to challenge in January. Then when they need to make a statement ( with 2 cup campaigns and competing in the league with 2 huge squads) they pull off possibly the biggest cheapskate move in January transfer window history.

We made 5 a year ago. It's two crappy transfer windows under Kinnear.

My bigger issue with investment isn't actually last summer, as the club made clear they'd done most of their business in January, it was the summer before only signing Anita (who IMO was MotM today).

We really need to get some strikers in permanently though, and a replacement for Cabaye in. We could really use a good CB as well.

Yup.

I think it's ridiculous to say it's a habit of theirs, considering this is the first time in 6 years they've been in this position. In recent years they've had excellent second halfs of the season - after the title has gone.

Random question, amongst Liverpool's defensive troubles, what's happened to Sakho? Is he injured or just not getting picked? I thought he'd looked good in France (albeit not £18m good)

I think "panic buys" is doing the players a disservice. Debuchy was signed 6 months late, Sissoko and Gouffran had pre-contract agreements anyway and we just panicked to pay a fee and get them in early. All 5 had been scouted for a fair while anyway.

Of course, it did show up the desperate attempt to spend as little as possible in the transfer strategy. Everything wrong with the summer.

important result for Liverpool yesterday, that was their trickiest away fixture of the 2nd half of the season.

They've currently got 5 more points in the 2nd half of the season than they had from the same games in the 1st half of the season, so they can lose to all of Utd, Chelsea and City and not have to worry about top 4 at all, as long as they at-least draw with Spurs (tho even if they lose it prolly won't matter).

I doubt they'll do it, but winning the title or finishing 2nd isn't beyond them. Realistically I reckon they'll finish 4th.

I'm a Sunderland fan and obviously im very rarely positive towards Newcastle (I wanted to say that first) but even when trying to be as neutral as possible I really cant stand Pardew, I liked Chris Hughton and Sir Bobby when they were Newcastle managers but not him.

Swearing at Pellegrini, Fighting with others, pushing over lines men and of course the Rumoured reason that he was sacked from West Ham and Southampton (the players wives ;)) and now this...

Anyway off to the final today :D Haway the lads

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
