We should all care a lot more than we do though! It's absolutely disgraceful and should have been stopped a long time ago. There should be salary caps for players in all leagues and all countries. It should then descend down so that gate prices and football strips ect are cheaper.

Maybe you don't care because you have the income but there are people who are basically slaves to football. People who cannot afford to go but struggle to find a way to watch their club who they have faithfully followed all their lives, it's a religion to them. And then they turn up at their ground and see average players on 50 60 grand a week. It's shocking!

You honestly think I feel the slightest bit bad? If it was mainly football then maybe, but I'm paying money for UFC, WWE, Darts and F1 on each of the channels. I pay for a service. If companies choose to take the money to give to football then power to them. It's not my job to be a guardian of the morality of football.

Interesting to see Arry struggling to get QPR out of the championship. You would have thought Englands best manager with the biggest budget in the league would be walking it!!

I dont see a problem with footballers getting high wages, in the end of the day you are paying for top level entertainment.

No difference to say festival headliners getting massive pay for headlining big festivals. Then you have film stars who get paid millions to make a film, again top level entertainment.

The likes of glasto/reading have tripled in price since the mid 90s and festivals getting popular, I bet there isn't much difference in football prices.

I think the how high is ridiculous, but I'd rather the high wages went to the footballers, than twattish owners, tv companies, agents, etc. There's a lot of leeches in the game and while footballers are overpaid, it's better that a lot of the money in the game goes their way than elsewhere.

I think most people are missing my point though. I understand that footballers generate millions of pounds and that's why they get extortionate wages, look at beckham and Ronaldo and the amount they make worldwide with shirt deals ect. What I am saying is that football should not generate that amount of money. Official memorabilia, gate tickets and everything else should be much lower. Football is been taken away from the working class. Go to a premiership ground now and it's full of tourists taking photos rather than local workers shouting in their team. The atmosphere in some of these grounds is awful, Man U, arsenal ect.

And people suggesting that you can just decide to stop supporting your team and support one that's cheaper to follow? That is crazy talk to me I don't see how anyone could ever stop supporting their team for any reason really! Maybe it is different in the north and the south of the country. But in places like Liverpool and Newcastle like I said football is almost like a religion.

And comparing football as a source of entertainment like films or festivals? Football is much more than entertainment to hardcore loyal supporters. I can't claim to be thatch of a loyal fan at all I don't go to every game anymore. But there are people that do no matter what the weather, price or distance who are earning around the minimum wage and bringing a family up.

Bill shankly quoted as saying football is more important than life and death is ridiculous toost of us. But there are people who can relate to this

it is I reckon, but only for very practical reasons.

In the south, outside of London, there is almost no club which has ever done anything of note within football. Whereas ooop-norf it seems like almost every club has a legend of sorts - even the more minor clubs today which never make the top flight nowadays have a solid history of success.

And that's quite possibly because football was traditionally a working class game, and there's never been much of the same working class culture in the south (except in London), because it didn't have anything similar to northern industrial towns and cities.

(there's of course a few exceptions in both football and towns).

As far as I'm concerned, if you continue to pay money you don't want to pay, you have yourself to blame. Hardcore loyal supporters included. Don't complain about prices and then continue to pay them. I'd find it very easy to step away if it became a problem.

Well,cannae see Scotland getting to France in 2016.

The Germans will romp the group and I see the Irish and Poland fighting for 2nd & 3rd.We'll see though.

Wales have a great chance of qualifying in 2nd behind Belgium as have Northern Ireland in their group if they turn up I think.

No surprise the English got San Marino again lol.Switzerland is the trickiest but should easily qualify.

Believe me, I'm MUCH more worried about Poland than I am about Ireland, who are pretty rancid.

Scotland aren't great, but we've at least gone back to being solid and hard to beat, which should be good enough to see off the overrated shite. Poland are a reasonably tough team though.

Well, Sky made a blunder there. Don't see how they managed it either. Newcastle/Villa was never a more attractive prospect than Liverpool/Swansea. Swansea's pressure was the key for much of the game. Thought De Guzman and Bony played excellent stuff. I'd have given Bony MotM even if there was some luck for him along the way.

I think it's a 4th place for Liverpool. Just a touch too many points dropped I reckon. Not sure I can even see them in the top three.
