Think comments about Mackay are slightly harsh. Yes, he's had money to spend at Cardiff, but so did Dave Jones, and he couldn't manage it. Mackay did.

Now they're up, Mackay's Cardiff aren't in the relegation zone. So far he's a definite success, despite working with a dickhead owner and the pressure that has brought.

If Mackay can keep them 17th or above he'll have exceeded expectation.

Just got tickets to the Oxford-Plymouth match. First time I'll be going to a footie match on Boxing Day (never been somewhere where the local team has been at home and it hasn't been postponed for bad weather). Really excited.

Done a great job vs done a good job is the question IMO. A few places are making him out to be a fantastic manager who's achieved an insane amount, when he's been a definite success, but he's had some advantages as well.

Let us know what you make of the experience. Their 'new' ground is one of those I've not yet visited - I went to the old manor ground - I'd be interested to know what you think of it. Is it still missing an end?

Actually saw a game there a few years ago for quite strange reasons. A team of us from Uni (went to nearby Reading) did a charity 4 legged race - basically 3 legged with an extra person - on the pitch at half time. Was Oxford v Bristol Rovers.

As you say was a bit odd with a stand 'missing' but interesting none the less

Ace day out at Oxford as well. First half was a bit dull, but lively atmosphere throughout and an exciting second half. Ground quite nice even though having a missing stand opposite feels a bit weird. Delighted I went, great to see a lower league ground nearly full.

One of those things, we've won games where we were not the better team this season, and today, i felt our second half performance was terrific. Take nothing away from Sunderland, they set their stalls out for a point, and for me got a soft penalty, (it was always going to be a soft mind) duly dispatched, and then played the same way, but holding out for all 3pts, they certainly rode their luck, but they did their job brilliantly and Mannone had a worldy.

Why Barkley didn't start, i do not know, but we paid the price for a silly mistake, sadly, United, Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal and City all won, and gained 3pts on us, whilst Spurs got a point. Southampton on Sunday now becomes a must win, as does stoke on NYD.

It's nice that some of the teams above united dropping points, maybe 4th isn't beyond us after all.

Newcastle v Arsenal and Chelsea v Liverpool so more dropped points for teams above us, united have got to keep winning though.

It was a very even game - tho I'm not sure that Liverpool would have won it if they'd put another of those chances away, as how it was played would have been different.

But they weren't dominated, unless you were saying that for that particular moment you posted - but you'd also have to say that that City were more dominated by Liverpool over the whole match than the other way around (tho not by very much).

Thank god there's only one Jose. I prefer proper matches.

about a month back you posted to celebrate the gap having closed quite substantially, only for it to open up again.

I've yet to see a convincing performance by Utd this season, and beating a Bruce-managed Hull certainly isn't it - even tho Utd were so dreadful to be 2 goals down in 15 minutes.

Having said that, Utd will be closer to 4th than I was thinking a while back, but I can't see any of the current top 4 dropping off their form enough to allow another team to sneak in there, and neither can I see Utd's performances being significantly better than any of those 4 for Utd to overtake them.

Time for a top 7 prediction I reckon, and it goes City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Soton, Utd.
