I may well be in the Arctics camp, depending on what the rest of the group feel I suppose, even then may choose to see Chic.

Chic at Glastonbury, on the West Holts stage, especially if sunny, is a perfect combination. Can't really re-create that atmosphere anywhere else, which is probably the reason why I'll avoid seeing them in Bristol this weekend.

On a side note, it amazes me that Chic are supporting the XX at the Eden Sessions. Obviously the XX are a popular act, but what a support act to have - tough act to follow in some cases.

EDIT: Portishead cross my mind as well, so difficult to decide!

Of that list 100% Chic. I'm still awaiting confirmation of Nas set time though. If he clashes with Chic it could be a dealbreaker cos I've seen Chic a few times before.

Of course there's always the chance I'll be nowhere near any of them!

i think the Artics are so underrated and thought they were brilliant in 07 - it will be a close call for me but will probably go for Portishead.

surprised that so many of this forum are going to Portishead or Chic - but i suppose its the rarity factor.

Who knows - will be a decision on the night - my mates are split as well between Artics and Portishead.

I'll be seeing Arctics cos they're one of my favourite bands. I suggest everyone goes to Portishead so I can enjoy myself without being surrounded by people standing around and talking waiting for 'I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor'. I had enough of that in '07.

Not going but the one i'd definitely see is Portishead. Arctics or Chic, i'm not too jealous of cos the opportunity (especially for Arctics) will probably come again very soon.

Portishead on the other hand - that is one unique experience!

Portishead here, never seen them, proper nostalgic love for them, my childhood and teens are going to come flooding back.

I would have loved to see Crystal Castles though, I think it would have been a great way to start friday night.

after missing half of bjork to see arctic monkeys in '07, they can sadly do one. i swore i'd not split a headliner again after that but...

i want to see portishead cos i never have but i have a fear of it potentially being a bit too emotional and, well, a downer.

chic will be the polar opposite but i've got no great link to that music, it's just fun.

i'll start off at portishead and see how i feel on the night. it's not too far to west holts.

Im nearly 100% sure Chic will play Get Lucky...........Mr Rodgers is on a massive summer tour and it is the tune of the summer thus far. I have very little doubt that they havent got it down and so will be playing it.

It will be very interesting to hear what happens in Manchester next week.

I'm not missing Portishead, but my word, I'd love to see Chic.

I've seen Chic about 5 times in recent years - and it's very definitely the case that the better the crowd is the better the band is. And I'm struggling to believe that the crowd at Glastonbury won't be by-far the best crowd they'll ever play to.

I've never seen a 'proper' Portishead set so I'd love to see them too, but i know I'll regret not seeing Chic if they live up to my expectations .... I hope I don't end up disappointed.

If, as has been claimed here, they play their collaborations, might there be some songs from Random Access Memories?

they certainly play loads of stuff that Nile has been involved with - Sister Sledge, Bowie, Madonna.

I think it'd be a bit cheeky for Chic to be playing DP stuff live before DP have done it, but you never know I guess.
