Haven't seen either live, and I don't have any stones stuff but I have rumours and played it on Friday. It's a fantastic album but for sheer classic acts in my lifetime, Id have to go for the stones. Be pretty happy if both play.

S

FM tour starting Apr 4th in USA - 35 dates. That'd eat up April and May, maybe into June, before elsewhere in the summer.

I'm putting two and two together and getting 8, but hope there's some serious work being done behind the scenes to sort this!

I'm trying to stay relaxed about it, but they are my favourite band, with the opportunity to play the best festival on the planet - and i'm even taking my Dad, who got me into them! I'm going to be a nightmare next year if they get booked.

Only American dates are announced, but the group is planning on touring the whole world. "If everything goes will we'll be in Europe doing festivals this summer," says Nicks. "Then we'll actually tour Europe, which is different than just doing festivals. Then we might do fifteen or so shows in Australia."

So any news on if they may turn up at a UK festival? Or that eliminates them from appearing at any of them?

My hunch on Glastonbury stays close to Michael's words about Fleetwood Mac from about five years ago: "No one's interested in them, are they?"

I'd guess that they'd be most likely to crop up in one of the following places, if they are doing outdoor shows or festivals (that quote suggests they might not be to me)....

1. Wembley Stadium.

2. one of the new AEG shows in Hyde Park

3. Hard Rock Calling, if it's going to continue as it now can't use Hyde Park (if still run by Live Nation, anyway).

4. at a Vince Power promoted event, if he's still in business to do them (I'm not sure that he will be, despite his efforts).

Then again Emily has expressed a desire to have them, so perhaps what Michael said means nothing now. And now I think about it, perhaps Emily's tweet was a part of the negotiation process to prove that they'd be wanted by the Glastonbury audience.

Who knows? Bands based outside the UK are often very hard to get good info on (when I got info before that was sourced from the states, but was a one off. And was wrong anyway ).

Hang on, but this is Stevie's latest quote:

Discussing the prospect of playing European shows, meanwhile, she said: "If everything goes will we'll be in Europe doing festivals this summer. Then we'll actually tour Europe, which is different than just doing festivals. Then we might do 15 or so shows in Australia."

They've never been a festival band, so perhaps this is an opportunity to break into that market. Not least the size of the crowds they'd be playing to.

On the popularity bit, weren't they top of the poll which did the rounds a few months ago? They do have a massive and very loyal fan base, so it's a bit crass of Eavis to have made the comment about them not being relevant.

Plus since then they've had the whole Glee thing (which was cringe-worthy but had them top trending on twitter throughout the planet).

With the way these dates are being planned, I think Glastonbury would be missing a trick if they aren't at least talking to their people.

Perhaps not as headliners, but certainly Sunday eve set.

    • Not my experience. I've always got the size I paid for.
    • Kind of crackers how fast this summer seems to be sailing by. But aye, must be some news soon!
    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.
