VCK
I must be the only person who actually prefers Beady Eye to Noel's High Flying Birds. They have some songs I like, such as Second Bite Of The Apple which is a cool little tune. Whereas Noel's songs just sound like Oasis-by-numbers and I just couldn't get into them. Really though neither will live up to the Oasis of 94 to 97.
dentalplan
^ that's not bad Matt. Apparently Download won't go near Offspring now. Two Door are spending 2014 working on their follow up so I don't think they'll play. Edited September 7, 2013 by dentalplan
thewayiam
Totally unrelated, but does this look about right at the moment? I might stick this in a thread like last year's if so Looks Likely QOTSA - If not headlining, they'll surely be subbing Arctic Monkeys - No rival festivals stand in the way Could Well Happen Pearl Jam - New album, will probably do R&L or Download Paramore - Benn said he sees them headlining next time they're here Mumford and Sons - They'll probably be booked for one major UK fest next summer The Killers - 10th annversary of Hot Fuss, haven't played since 2008 Kings of Leon - Seems unlikely if AM are booked, but new album and a 5 year gap makes it a possibility Blur - Have we just forgotten these? Rumoured for Isle Of Wight festival, and would make a great booking for R&L if they pull it off, but will they still be touring? Unlikely, but they could get booked RATM - They're doing LA rising next year, so a couple of UK tour dates seems possible, but they'd probably need some new material Stone Roses - Still in demand and they sort of owe Reading fest for their famously awful 1996 performance. Will they be at Glasto instead though? Depeche Mode - Look likely for Glasto, and they don't seem to fit R&L's demographic, but then again, did The Cure? Arcade Fire - I can only see them doing Glastonbury next year. If not though, R&L really do need to get them booked. It would only be a 4 year gap though Kanye West Extremely Unlikely AC/DC - New album supposedly coming out. Their demands at Download 2009 may be too much for Melv though Black Sabbath - Apparently, they stop touring after this year Oasis - Even if they do reform, they will most likely do V or Glasto instead, but who knows? Daft Punk - But come on, how awesome would it be? I think if Arctics play, it may well be a share with T. I can't rule any looks likely out and I have no reason to pick Paramore over QOTSA but I can't see both. A hunch would be to rule out KOL, Blur (it's here or IOW and Depeche Mode. What's going for The Killers is they may get away with a Hot Fuzz anniversary show and it'll sell tickets - on an exclusive too. Muse was a success from OOS similarly. PJ I want to rule out but if they are around then possible but Download 3rd header is my bet. Paramore I think will be one time too early but MB has said that and if they don't get the option this time they might not but even I would rather see them sub to someone less risky - but it's who. I think their time personally was 2012 instead of subbing - Brand New Eye's really set them off. I'd rule out every unlikely but could be booked for various reasons. All the extremely unlikely one's are right to me READING FRIDAY/LEEDS SATURDAY MAIN STAGE Jay-Z The Prodigy Enter Shikari All Time Low A Day To Remember Deaf Havana Tribes Rival Sons Job For A Cowboy NME/RADIO 1 STAGE Two Door Cinema Club Friendly Fires Savages Warpaint Pure Love READING SATURDAY/LEEDS SUNDAY MAIN STAGE The Black Keys Queens Of The Stone Age Vampire Weekend Manic Street Preachers Miles Kane The Joy Formidable Palma Violets The Naked And Famous Iceage NME/RADIO 1 STAGE Crystal Castles The Strypes The 1975 Lucy Rose Howler READING SUNDAY/LEEDS FRIDAY MAIN STAGE The Stone Roses Beady Eye Babyshambles The Gaslight Anthem Rise Against Billy Talent The Hives Asking Alexandria The Skints NME/RADIO 1 STAGE You Me At Six Don Broco Ghostpoet The Drums Temples I'm shocked you have YMA6 heading the tent while Beady Eye sub main, I'd turn it down purely for that reason if I was them. YMA6 are far and wide bigger than them. The Hives up to The Gaslight is great but I feel The Gaslight may sub NME. Friday and saturday I feel are just poor and just filler except the top two and then I'm not raving at all on saturday. Manics are way more likely to return to V, I don't remember hearing the crowd was great for them in the NME tent. It'd seal a year off for me more than this year. Also ES have confirmed they will not be there. They'd be an automatic 3rd place thought for
Tobieski
Arctics - yes The Vaccines - yes Two Door - yes Gaslight You Me At Six Pearl Jam - yes QOTSA - yes The Offspring Rise Against - yes Crystal Castles Arcade Fire Vampire Weekend - yes Friendly Fires - yes The Horrors Bastille Pretty realistic I'd say, although it's debatable whether Vampire Weekend would actually sub, last album didn't do nearly as well as anticipated

Babyquack
I'd love to see The Strypes make a quick return to the festival next year as I missed them this year (they clashed horribly with System and hell, I was not going to miss that!) - I could see them playing mid to high NME depending on how well their album does. They could potentially generate a lot of hype about their live shows when they support Arctic Monkeys later this year - around 100,000 people will see them live on that tour, so should be good for the band
thewayiam
Arctics The Vaccines Two Door Gaslight You Me At Six Pearl Jam QOTSA The Offspring Rise Against Crystal Castles Arcade Fire Vampire Weekend Friendly Fires The Horrors Bastille Swap TDCC and YMA6. The Offspring there is a decent shout but I don't see Rise Against directly under, they were only two places under a few years ago. It's kinda why I don't see YMA6 playing the same day as Paramore if they play - it's so so ideal to put them on different days for sales alone. AF one more year, VW down one, FF haven't done anything I see to move up? - I'd stick them in NME headline over anything and The Horrors I'd have down one too. ^ that's not bad Matt. Apparently Download won't go near Offspring now. Two Door are spending 2014 working on their follow up so I don't think they'll play. I'm got a great feeling R&L will book them again at 3rd top main. I think 3rd's will be YMA6, The Offspring and Vampire Weekend. Rise Against and Bastille 4th top are great shouts too. I want to have a little dig at subs being QOTSA, Jack White and Plan B ( very outside chance but I feel the C&S element that obviously attracted a lot this year is a decent bet but there are fests like V I could see sealing him again over. dentalplan
Here's some XL feedback. I think I've missed somebody though. Oh well. READING FRIDAY/LEEDS SATURDAY MAIN STAGE Jay-Z - Doubtful as he's done his Magna Carter tour and summer 'festival' shows - plus, rap again. The Prodigy Enter Shikari - Ruled themselves out All Time Low A Day To Remember - Scarcely mentioned and quite possible actually Deaf Havana - Bit of a leap up the line up isn't it? Tribes Rival Sons Job For A Cowboy NME/RADIO 1 STAGE Two Door Cinema Club - Doubt they'll be there. Working on album Friendly Fires - Would headline NME or play third, they'll probably have a similar year to Foals Savages Warpaint Pure Love READING SATURDAY/LEEDS SUNDAY MAIN STAGE The Black Keys - I don't think they're up to it yet, QOTSA would get the nod ahead of them Queens Of The Stone Age Vampire Weekend Manic Street Preachers - Bit of a wasted slot sadly, no time for the classics Miles Kane The Joy Formidable Palma Violets The Naked And Famous Iceage NME/RADIO 1 STAGE Crystal Castles The Strypes - Swap with The 1975 The 1975 Lucy Rose Howler READING SUNDAY/LEEDS FRIDAY MAIN STAGE The Stone Roses Beady Eye - Nah, not big enough Babyshambles -Same, not big enough for this slot The Gaslight Anthem Rise Against Billy Talent The Hives Asking Alexandria The Skints NME/RADIO 1 STAGE You Me At Six - Too big for a tent, 3rd surely Don Broco Ghostpoet The Drums Temples Arctics The Vaccines Two Door - See above Gaslight You Me At Six - Maybe against Arctics but I mean, we've heard they've been offered 3rd Pearl Jam - this is a good day QOTSA The Offspring Rise Against Crystal Castles Arcade Fire Vampire Weekend - as it's been said they might not be big enough, but I agree. If they're back they'd probably step up Friendly Fires The Horrors - fingers crossed they can make this sort of impression Bastille - I'd imagine they'd transfer to main stage other wise it'd be a carbon copy of this year's set Go on then... I'd love kanye to be one of the headliners but he probably won't so heres my guess without him. The Prodigy The Black Keys You Me At Six The Gaslight Anthem Bombay Bicycle Club Blur - should have played this year if any Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds - He's had his year off V, if he's not back with whatstheirnames Babyshambles - Nah Yeah Yeah Yeah's - Nah, play here too rarely to do consecutive summers Disclosure Arctic Monkeys Queens Of The Stone Age - What an atrocious place to put the world's best rock band Vampire Weekend The Courteeners - Too high Bastille - see above It's not a bad shout. The whole Oasis thing though, he only rules out Glasto and nothing else, which he would as they'd hammer the V's and T's etc then do it the following year. I see YYY's way more likely to be on NME than Bastille and Babyshambles 3rd just isn't right. 4th for me. Vampire Weekend The Courteeners Bombay Bicycle Club Friday Main The Black Keys Queens Of The Stone Age - may be biased but I do think they're much bigger than The Black Keys Enter Shikari - ruled 'emselves out Rise Against The Hives NME Rudimental Kendrick Lamar - maybe if he did this year, but he's probably on the rise The 1975 Grimes Lucy Rose Saturday Main Kanye West - I don't see it but stranger things etc. Jack White Vampire Weekend Bastille Of Monsters and Men Savages - on main would be weird NME You Me At Six - against Kanye this would draw too big a crowd for the tent All Time Low The Joy Formidable Sunday Main Arctic Monkeys The Vaccines Beady Eye MGMT Mystery Jets - too high NME ??? - indeed Paramore 30 Seconds To Mars - Apparently on a hiatus, they've said that before though I guess You Me At Six The Gaslight Anthem Foster The People Friendly Fires - too low Of Monsters And Men - too low, I'd have thought they're similar style and stature to The Lumineers Arctic Monkeys Queens Of The Stone Age - stop, Dizzee Rascal or Example or some other toss here please Vampire Weekend Bastille Crystal Castles The 1975 Cage The Elephant Pearl Jam ??? - QOTSA Bullet For My Valentine - this is a good suggestion and I don't think I've seen it yet. Hats off. Rise Against Disclosure Kendrick Lamar - potentially too low Noah & The Whale - I don't even know where they'd go now. Should have featured this year really. Year off V and new album. I can't think of a sub for PJ. QOTSA would fit really well, but then I couldn't think of a sub for AM as I don't think The Vaccines will play next year. Could Weezer sub?
