Have you guys thought that, if these four are the actualy headliners, this is the earliest in a year that the headliners have ever been known? By some distance too.

Does that make anyone sceptical? I sort of am.

I am skeptical but, it's probably the poorest set we could get (I'd still enjoy it), so we should just go with it, then if it turns out we do get Sabbath or someone like that, it will be amazing. Right?

Kinda. But if they did booked some really good headliners, I'm sure that they did not announce Blink-182 as the 'first' headliner. They could have announced much more decent acts other than Blink-182. If they did booked decent acts and you're right (I hope you're right), they should have kept Blink-182 until the last announcement.

Maybe. Wouldn't that be boring though? I dunno though it just doesn't seem right.

There's a lot of other elements that factor into who is announced when though. They don't get pick of the lot.

Also just noticed NMH are still in Europe in August at an FR event. Go nuts!

NMH would go down like a sack of shit at Reading and Leeds. totally wasted

They're a lot more popular than people give them credit for. Every tumblr hipster adores ITAOTS. People who I am pretty sure hit V last year were Facebook statusing about missing out on 2014 NMH tix. They'd go down really well, I think.

hmm i think that's a small minority though. if bands like Faith No More and At The Drive-In can't pull decent crowds at R/L's then i don't see what chance NMH have (okay, those two bands were up against big headliners, but surely NMH would be headlining a stage / placed fairly high. can't exactly stick 'em on Main Stage at 4pm)

I honestly think that NMH are more popular in 2013 than ATDI and FNM were in 2012 & 2009 respectively. In the mainstream eye. As well as the Reading Festival eye.

    • Personal preference is irrelevant. With that level of hype, the only slot that makes sense crowd management-wise is Woods headline.    They were shifted late on just before The Great Escape from Thurs to Weds. A bunch of people on day tickets missed out, but even factoring that in TGE still had to close off their big tent with PLENTY of time before the set starting.    That kind of music doesn't translate well for me for spaces bigger than the Tipi but that's just my own preference.
    • If a band has enormous demand you don't put it on a stage too small to contain the people that want to see them, it simply boils down to that!
    • yeah, they commit to 3%, and then 3.5%, of GDP on defence...and then when comes down to it they don't know how to or want to make whatever trade off to fund it, so fall short. It's just Starmer all over, a bit flipping useless really. Either make some cuts somewhere else, or stick up taxes, or borrow more...it's as simple as that. If not willing to do any of that then stop making commitments you can't meet. Anyway, surely this is it for Starmer. That resignation letter doesn't hold back.
    • was talking to my old man yesterday and he was telling me similar about Starmers choices on defence , hes talking the talk but not doing the walk and we are at massive risk .... actually the previous Tory minister did better for Ukraine but probably because Healy had been held back by Starmer
    • AdP are just a novelty act and as such should barely be headlining The Folly let alone Garden or Woods.  Discuss...
