they seem to be the 'mature' NME headliner (in the vein of Janes Addiction, Faith No More, At The Drive-In etc), aka the one that barely anybody will go and see

Funny how seeing as there has been 1000+ pages discussing who is gonna be the final headliner, there have only been half a dozen of people reacting to Green Day.

Not to people - there doesn't have to be an 'older' NME headliner. Phoenix don't fit that bill no matter how hard they're forced into that pigeon hole, their new record will probably get a good review in the NME and they will have a bigger crowd than ATDI and FNM.

I thought Phoenix's new album was very meh, Entertainment is a top song though.

Huge fan of Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and would of loved to see Phoenix this year however they're up against my favourite of the 3 headliners so I'll be having to give them a miss.

I think it's a huge clash of fans between Phoenix and Biffy as they're both "indie" bands, they'll get a bigger crowd than Alt J at least (I think)
