I don't know, it seems fairly obvious by the Sunday comments that it's on. A little hint there me thinks. Glasto like to end on the Sunday with a bang and a bloody good sing along. Michael E has done well in the past three G's to attract a really big act to finish the fest off, 2009- Blur, 2010 - Stevie and 2011- Bouncie. It would seem rather a let down not to have a band / person who can do that. The Stones seem the obvious choice.

If Mick's at all put off by the rain all he needs to do is to make one phone call. 'David, do you remember that video we did together? I need you to dig through your impressive wardrobe and dig out that amazing mac you wore. I have an upcoming engagement and I think I might need it. I'll sent it back to you properly dry cleaned and everything'.

Hey presto Mick's concerns are sorted.

Now that we've gotten over speculating whether or not the Stones are going to play, can we begin to discuss what a damp squib their performance will actually be?

Their standing in the history of popular music is much greater than their actual talent/performances these days.

All the schoolgirl "Will they!? Won't they!?" gossiping seems to have distracted people from the fact that they're shit live, and even with their back catalogue, a headline slot will leave half the crowd knowingly disappointed, and the other half in steadfast denial that they haven't just wasted their time watching some very embarrassing old men. Neil Young is the definition of a respectable, elder statesmen of rock'n'roll, who can still demolish crowds at will. Jagger et al are a fucking horror show. I think if they play, it probably makes Gaga more likely given their recent duet on '...Shelter', though they've probably got the Florence option too
