I'm sure you were on here a few weeks ago pushing this idea that a throwaway comment under a video posted on their website 18 months ago means they're nailed on. It really doesn't. I can tell from the login name that you're desperate for it to be them, and they may play, but that comment on their website is neither here nor there. I'd say what Yorke said today is far more of a pointer and that doesn't really say much concrete.

In all fairness i'm just suprised so much doubt has suddenly appeared around the stones.

People were alot more certain in december, but now people are starting to doubt it when the rumour is at it's highest, they could be playing coachella this year! If so that will heighten the chances even more.

This negativity has frightened me to say the least, I was so certain i'd be seeing the stones this year. Now i'm worried/sad :(

I seem to remember reading this is your first Glastonbury. If that's true, you might not be aware that along with Prince, Bowie, Radiohead and Dolly Parton, The Stones have been rumoured every year ever since time began. Even if they play, that will continue. There's very little special or out of the ordinary for them to be rumoured this year. Every year, media outlets will say its them.

it's usually quite random isn't it? a band usually leaks it themselves, or it seems to be on the verge of being leaked and so the organizers announce it suddenly. i imagine the first one will be announced quite soonish, and i imagine it'll be Arctics

The implication is that they've got an affiliation with the festival, having headlined twice, played the KOL secret set last year and Thom and Johnny playing the secret set the year before. Therefore the likelihood is that they'll play again (a la Coldplay) as they love the festival and the Eavii love them. The implication is not that they'll play the next one. (I'm not saying they won't, just that you can't presume they will on that comment).

    • Same’s happened at MSG recently with Rush and Phish alternating nights. I guess each band has its own unique production so their riggers will be kept busy
    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
    • live music / main stage will generally end around 11pm but theres dj’s and late goings on right till 4am if you are so inclined.   Drinks are about £7.50 a pint probably and yes theres lots of mixed drinks / spirits / cocktails available to buy   wonderful festival, back for my third year in a row and 4th overall
