Personally I don't believe fleetwood mac are closing the sunday. I think the sunday has been shrouded abit in mystery, who even knows though!

I guess the reason i'm kinda complaining is because of schedule of things.

If the order was Arctic Monkeys, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones I wouldn't really care... I'd get finish my weekend with the stones and spend the saturday night on a different stage.

It's just normally the sunday night headliner is so important and so media grabbing, it doesn't sit right with me.

The thing that has completely passed me by, and which I cannot related to at all, is the apparent obsession people have with where on the bill a band should play...are they "big enough" to play three from the top or whatever. Really, who gives a fuck? If you like them and they play, great. Why the obsession with where on the bill they are? Does it matter?

it's a standard philosophical angle on any information. It's a perfect opportunity to demonstrate the worthlessness of that philosophical angle, to add to the worthlessness of most of the rest of it too.

My step-daughter is doing philosophy at uni. Unfortunately she won't accept my advice to hand in each bit of work saying only "it's all bollocks".... Which is shame, because that's the deepest answer her lecturer will ever get to whatever question he poses.

I think it matters in so far as I always prefer watching a band in the dark rather than in the day time.

I mean when the flaming lips headlined the other year that wouldnt have been as good if they'd been on at 2pm. Same for all bands I reckon.

Though maybe some jingly jangly crap is better on a sunny afternoon, I dunno

I said it appears to be a new term - admitting to the fact that it might have been in use and I missed it. At no point did I say, or intentionally imply, that if I wasnt aware of something that it cannot have existed

but the fact that you're believing it a new term still puts in the place I said, even if you're hedging your bets with your wording.

Just because it might have only recently reached your ears doesn't say anything about whether it's new or not. I'm pretty sure there's whole libraries of info that would be new to you while being hundreds of years old.

it isn't. it really isn't. this is some rule that seemingly exists inside your head and nowhere else.

Saturday is, insofar as these things matter, the 'main' night. i read from some of your other posts that you have yet to attend a Glastonbury, so you won't know, but the vibe changes on the Sunday. some people leave early, some locals come in, everybody is winding down after having already been there for four days. most people don't cain it cos they have to travel or work the next morning. i'm sure there are other factors too.

also, as you will be at the festival, why would you even care what is 'media grabbing'? and what festival gets more coverage that Glastonbury anyway? you will struggle to be more covered in media than wall to wall BBC coverage.

i hope i don't sound patronising when i say this, but once you have been, you will understand. and what you will understand is that who plays on what night isn't in the slightest bit important.

Ah well maybe it's just my previous festival experiences that have made me have a bias out look towards it. I've attended reading festival for the past 4 years and to me, the Sunday is always the best day. With the best headliner, which is usually the most famous. It's probably just what i've grown used too.
