Just a reminder that the Backstreets (Springsteen) forum seem fairly convinced Bruce is returning.

what's behind them thinking that? Anything?

It would be very unusual for Glasto to have back a non "current" act as a headliner so soon.

I'm guessing that there's not much more behind what they're thinking than "Springsteen is the best act in the world, and Glastonbury is the best festival in the world. Therefore it's simply impossible for Glastonbury to not have Bruce".

"spoke to michael eavis a couple of days ago at the local gig he puts on for the village and said it would be a good idea to have bruce at glastonbury 2013,he said he thought it was a bit soon after 2009 but conceded he was aware his current tour was better than ever ,so not sure about it but he would say this if he was signed up anyway"

that to me says he's defo not playing, from how I take what Michael says.

Also, Bruce heard that an organiser of a Festivals website had the misfortune to miss most of the show, and he thought he'd give him the chance to make up for it....

That was fortune, just as it was for the thousands of others who streamed away bored too. :)

as I said, it's not the only thing they're going on...

his tour will probably carry on next year and return to Europe..

that's as much as just about anyone who's being suggested so far is being based on

Nope, it's not, not at all.

But really, if those Bruce fans are basing their whole certainty on some meaningless words by Michael and the fact that Bruce is on tour, then it really is what I said - that they believe it's impossible for the best festival in the world to not book who they think is the best act in the world.

Who was it who said Radiohead fans are somewhat ridiculous? That sentence needs urgent re-writing.

Please do not. I sense that there may be a lot of people suddenly not your biggest fans if you did. ;)

God I hate to say this, because I have the same feelings about Bruce as yourself, but R.E.M 1999 and returned after the fallow year in 2003. There is, sadly, a precedent.

I'm unsure if they would be big enough. They aren't exactly relevant. and don't have the reformed factor that they did in 2008 so will only be smaller.

Maybe if they played loveless in full or went up against a big pop act like gaga if she plays.

Gonna go crazy here, guys.

The Rolling Stones, Arcade Fire, Fleetwood Mac

Underworld, Daft Punk, PULP

(john peel): Sigur Ros, Animal Collective, SBTRKT (will probably be bigger)

I think REM went down slightly better than the boss - they did with us anyway! smile.png

Pretty sure the boss would be what I call a 'box-checker' headliner- a one off who does it so it's on his 'CV'. much like people who only go the Glasto once.
