Phelps was great, I don't think you can have definitive greatest Olympian of all time, as depends how you look at it. But he is certainly up there with that record haul, pure talent! (Even if tonight it was Lochte impressive swim to put the US so far ahead of everyone else!! , don't me wrong the others did their bit by keeping it up but getting that far ahead was brilliant!)

Hoping we get a medal in the swimming soon!!! The girls and guys in teamgb are certainly getting close, just that little bit extra effort in the finals/luck I think!

The women's hockey did well again today to, can't wait to get there next week!!!...Just hoping I can snag some cheap swimming tickets in the resales/recycled when i am there!

I am getting a little annoyed over this Tom Daley twitter business. I would have more sympathy if he had not decided to cash in on his dads death and bring the story into the public domain.

got back from london yesterday ..... never seen the tubes quieter

anyway, had a great time at the olympics.... went too two Handball matches, Iceland vs Argentina and Croatia Vs Korea... both great games and very impressed by the sport fantastic to watch! icelandic fans were great and loud as well

and i went too GB vs Argentina and Germany vs Belguim at the mens Hockey .... brilliant atmosphere by the fans which was helped by a GB win

impressed by the layout as well. and 4.60 a pint was pretty good to be fair

I agree to a certain extent. What Tom Daley should have done is retweet it with the user removed and deal with it personally. It's fairly obvious people like that are simply looking for publicity, so why give them it when you can deal with it in private?

The rowers were fantastic, hope it is the first of many golds.

Glad to see the badminton players kicked out. While I think there are cases when an olympian wouldnt be accepted to give 100% (eg athletic heats where many atheltes could win but conserve their energy and take 2nd or 3rd) the badminton players were almost rubbing peoples noses in it and were completely going against the spirit of the game. In a way feel sorry for the players who were probbaly put in a difficult position by their coach but its important to send a message to others. It probably wont stamp this kind of thing out though, players will probably just be a bit cleverer in losing.

Saw Spain vs Morroco yesterday, Mata, De Gea and Jordi Alba all played. Spain missed a hat full of chances though Morroco's number 9 looked handy. Thought the security measures and searches at old trafford were a bit over the top, worse than an airport, though I expect its going on at all the venues?

    • I’d expect U2 & Muse to be options too.
    • I see there's yet another article doing the rounds about Madonna doing BST, and not Glastonbury.   That could be right, but given there'll be plenty of tickets to shift for BST, could it not just be false info doing the rounds to protect that?? Not that I think Madonna would struggle to shift tickets, or that Glastonbury would have that much impact, but still - would probably still make sense to protect ticket sales when it's announced?
    • Given BST recently I wouldn't expect it as rock heavy as that. I kinda am expecting it'd be where The Cure play though as I'm expecting a second year touring of them
    • Id suggest they would need another new album before they play again - Otherwise the show is going to probably be very similar to the one they played at the last festival.
    • Absolutely not, I dont know of it selling out but they needed TFG and Skyvip to shift them. Biffy aren't either and they didn't go to TFG and I wouldn't say Kasabian are either and they sold it out the quickest. Liam Gallagher did Finsbury Park as well and subbed the Pyramid Stage, Noah Kahan did two nights at BST and subbed the Pyramid though that's a rare one. Finsbury itself will definitely not grant you top spot, that field can hold 100k      That's fair. I'm definitely in the camp myself that Fender and Harry are most likely.
