I personally think Foals new album is top notch, i also am abit partial to bombay bicycle club although that opinion doesnt seem to shared amongst those on here. I thought they were quite popular, guess i was wrong.

Who cares what music you like, its your life at the end of the day. f**k everyone else.

Neil- I have to ask, any recommendations for music?

There's little on this year that I'm thinking "I must see that".

The one act I am wanting to see - more for nostalgia reasons than anything - is Inner City Unit.

I'm pretty sure you've said you don't like the original three headliners this year, not impressed at all with Gorillaz headlining. Hated Bruce last year (worst headliner ever?).

I'd have checked out U2 (never seen them, not that they're my thing), but probably won't bother with Gorillaz. Won't bother with Muse (seen em loads anyway). Will defo check out Stevie.

I only rarely see any bands on the pyramid. There's usually stuff that's more appealing elsewhere, plus the moire mainstream stuff (Pyramid, Other, JP, etc) I could see almost any day of the week or at other fests. Glasto has a much greater amount of the less common stuff than other fests, so I tend not to waste it seeing the stuff I could see elsewhere.

I tend to spend most of my time around Jazzworld, as it has the more interesting acts.

I've seen plenty of other bands/acts slated, but don't really recall any praised?

nowt much grabbing me this year. The line-ups are steadily becoming less distinct.

Is it just that you prefer different styles of music etc? Or do you have any recommendations for ones that'll be big three years down the line please ;)

I can state for certain that any of the new stuff won't be big in a year, and will be forgotten about entirely in three. :P

I don't even know what indie is anymore.

Buttonholing yourself into one genre is completely self-defeating anyway. I'm nowhere near as much of a musical chameleon as a couple of my friends but on the Friday fo example I'm still hoping to see Rolf, Breakestra, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Phoenix, Hot Chip and Flaming Lips or Mos Def.

There's no need these days to restrict yourself to one or two "genre"'s, music is so freely available to try

Also, everyone should listen to/watch motherf**king JAPANDROIDS

Two blokes, one guitar, one drum kit, f**king loud ROCKING OUT making you feel alive

We finished our old lives

Like we finished off the wine

Now we're used to staying up all night

Two hearts beating

Oh yeah, oh yeah

Well you can keep tomorrow

After tonight, we're not gonna need it

Beat up, beat down, wet ground

But too drunk to feel it

Ooh

We used to dream

Now we worry about dying

I don't wanna worry about dying

I just wanna worry about those sunshine girls

Young hearts

Spark fire

All night

Oh yeah, oh yeah

I agree with a lot of the stuff posted here, I'm finding it harder to get into a lot of supposedly excellent new bands. I know it's horses for courses, but some of the bands doing the festivals this year are boringly average. Of the last year, it might only be Them Crooked Vultures which have excited me (and they've got decades of experience of individually being in some of the biggest bands on the planet !).

Band Of Skulls were excellent when I went to see them a few weeks ago - they're one to look out for.

Am hoping to discover a few new names during the weekend.

Also - I love how everybody still slags off the NME - since the relaunch and the new editor I gave it a chance and it's actually vaguely readable with content about actual music in it. I picked it up the other day (I still wouldn't actually pay for it) and it had a freaking Xiu Xiu review in it. Couldn't believe my eyes. And NME's "NEW MUSIC" schtick is no worse than MOJO's endless "OMG THE BEATLES!!!!!!!!"

Best sources for music reviews though deffo drownedinsound and pitchfork. Well, they're what I read anyway

No-one has mentioned Wild Beasts so far - a British guitar band that have huge potential I think. Playing the JP stage. Very interesting lyrically, though the singer's falsetto might not be to some tastes. Last album Two Dancers is amazing.
