I love the improv. Theres a bit in the 5th episode I think (the Michael Bublé bit) where Coogan is trying to be all cool and not laugh but he just can't help it.

They seem to be genuinely great mates. Could watch it all day.

Did I kill this thread with the above? Hasn't anybody watched anything on TV in the last two weeks worth commenting on? Not even two weeks episodes of the TV programme being discussed?

The idea that some fanatics think that The Planet needs genociding for some weird (possibly invented) reason or another is hardly a new Sci-Fi trope. (or political, let's face it).

I am enjoying the whole comicbookness type thing of the series.

Utopia - absolutely brilliant so far, loved S1, and dint really think it had anywhere to go. But this series has been pretty much on a par so far. Really looking forward to seeing how it pans out from here.

A Touch Of Cloth - love it. never watched the first 2 "series", until the trailers for this one came out, and remember a friend recommending it, so donwloaded the others and watched them in 2 days. I genuinely laughed out loud more than I have done for a long time. As a long time fan of Brooker and his writing, its amazing I had ignored this for so long. If you havent seen it, you are missing a treat.

Suits - a good friend of ours has been banging on about Suits for a long time, I went out with 2 other couples on saturday, both of whom had (coincidentally) started watching Suits recently, and both were raving about it, so I relented and downloaded the first episode yesterday and we sat down to watch it last night. Fuck me it is awful. It has some of the worst acting I have ever seen in a "major" TV series, and the corniest writing out there. Utter fucking drivel, propped up by some quirky soundtrack songs, fairly good looking characters and some "flying by the seat of their pants" premises. No thank you.

Looking forward to the return of Sons Of Anarchy, but other than that I dont think theres anything on the horizon that wets my whistle TV wise. Might have to finally do the full run of The Sopranos (never made it to the end of S4, for no reason at all)

Ha, yes there isn't really much of anything thats exciting at the moment.

I watched BBC 3's new Sitcom Siblings yesterday, it was ok, funny in places....plus Oregon from Fresh Meat .

The whole idea of them being Brother and Sister seems a tad pointless from the first Episode, may aswell just made them housemates.

Summer TV is shit, and worse with no Spartacus looming. Have downloaded Outlander, time travel tits & violence replacement by Starz but can't quite face bothering with it. It sounds kind of like Highlander without the cool stuff but I'll still give it a whirl sometime.

Just saw the three Doctors or whatever the Matt Smith swansong was called. Pretty good, not perfect but good enough.

Very much looking forward to Sons of Anarchy and high hopes (figuratively and literally) for Better Call Saul. Also kind-of looking forward to the next The Walking Dead, the last half of the last season was the "least shit" so far with (for me thus far) the only end-of-season finale with a "cliffhanger" that made me even vaguely care.

Next year's going to be even worse, once Game of Thrones has finished I won't have either Spartacus or Sons of Anarchy to look forward to.

Suits - a good friend of ours has been banging on about Suits for a long time, I went out with 2 other couples on saturday, both of whom had (coincidentally) started watching Suits recently, and both were raving about it, so I relented and downloaded the first episode yesterday and we sat down to watch it last night. Fuck me it is awful. It has some of the worst acting I have ever seen in a "major" TV series, and the corniest writing out there. Utter fucking drivel, propped up by some quirky soundtrack songs, fairly good looking characters and some "flying by the seat of their pants" premises. No thank you.

My partner is disabled so downloads of lot of "numbing" TV just to pass the time and distract from the constant pain. The Good Wife and Suits are part of this, along with Greys Anatomy.

Suits and Greys in particular work a lot better if you watch holding dear your sense of irony: Greys is a soul-swapping sci-fi show where perfectly ordinary medical trainees have their emotional stability replaced by those of vulnerable teenagers leading to catastrophic personal-life failure; whereas Suits is a straight-faced but subversive comedic parody of the aspirational lawyer genre with the two male leads clearly in deep love (but each too egotistical to make the first move) and the business guru dude is easily the most demented-but-cuddly sexual predator currently on TV.

Basically, "reading between the refresh rates" helps if they're on, but I wouldn't go so far as to download them to bother.

Apparently the producers are making a new show based in the rock and roll circuit of the 1970s. Bobby Cannavale (Gyp Rosetti) rumoured to be playing the lead. Scorsese involved. As is Mick Jagger.

not really, in terms of following the plot, as they are all standalone in the vein of prime suspect. theres a very strong chance you may learn the identity of the killer in S1 during the 2 eps on now, but tbh - you arent really watching it for the tension, you are watching for the cheap gags. Its very "naked gun" or "police squad", but played totally straight.

If you can, I would watch them in order, but if you cant, dont let that stop you watching out of sync.
