  4. If you can't take the Tuesday off, there's a 19:30 sailing from Rosslare, gets you into Fishguard at 23:00. Could check in somewhere then for the night and then have a 3hr drive the next morning. Also slightly later ones to Pembroke/Holyhead, but they get in after midnight, so you'd have to have somewhere that is OK with you checking in at that time (lots of B&Bs in those places, so might be OK). Depending on what time you need to finish work at though, 19:30 sailing (ie be checked in at Rosslare before 19:00) might be too tight. If WFH is an option that day, there's a whole load of workarounds that you could probably do, from driving down half the way in the morning before work and then sitting in a coffee shop/pub for the morning working, then continuing on to Wexford at lunch and doing the same for the afternoon (as a friend of mine once did for All Together Now!), to getting the train all the way to Rosslare during the afternoon and working on that, while others drove down. If you want to fly, there's a 19:30 Tuesday flight from Dublin to Bristol, you could get that, rent a car at the airport, and then check in somewhere outside Bristol for the night. Next morning get breakfast, do supermarket shop, and be on-site by midday. As said above, splitting the group with some driving and some flying would be an option too, with some sailing/driving and being able to take tents and pick up booze, and others that can't go over on Tuesday daytime getting a flight instead (either Tues night, or Wed morning).

  6. Mostly locals, but if expats, then they were Brits, yeah. Funny thing is that the show got very negative feedback on socials, because Casablancas had his typical jokes, which were not appreciated as the age average was higher than on typical festivals. But the show was great. They might not be the biggest name, but if they lack guitar headliner and no one else is around, they might get them even for exclusive as they were supposed to play during Covid anyway. If they get some weak guitar headliner, the feedback will be terrible, QoTSA are one level below The Strokes imho.

  7. Fair enough. I'd probably put Orbital in that category tbh, they have a number of euphoric numbers that i'm sure they'll have in the set - Belfast, Halcyon etc.

  19. I remember thinking I had time to go to the bar before they came on at Féile ‘94…got 3 pints, was almost back to where my mates were when they started. Less than 100 feet to go. Arrived back without a drop left in any of the 3 pints, soaked from head to toe in beer with the entire crowd bouncing in unison. Awesome gig.

  20. Good first impression from the latest Bring Me The Horizon single, I really do think they'd smash a big slot somewhere on the farm.

  24. Hope they sort themselves out, I always hoped they would be back at the farm again at some point. The Friday night of RATM into Levellers in 94 was peak Glasto for me.

  27. Just got home (managed to dodge the rain!) with a huge branch of Cedar Of Lebanon. About three tonnes in total, cut into managable chunks. Put a load of the thinner pieces in lean-to. Will split and stack soon. Keeping it for our firepit which we sometimes use at the festival. It smells absolutely fantastic when it burns.

  28. Sad news about RATM indeed but not shocking. It was always a possibility. A good reminder that we shouldn't be taking things for granted as we don't know when the last time we watch a favourite band is going to be - especially the ones that have been around for a while. It's one of the reasons why I don't go to festivals with a bucket list and I don't mind having bands that I love (and only those, as subjective as this can be) on repeat.

  34. Negotiating is one thing, reality is another. I don’t think QOTSA would be playing 4 days in a row and getting all the equipment to/from Scandinavia in one day is a bit of a stretch which leaves them available only for the last day. Would they sub Fred? The Strokes don’t seem to be active at the moment so Sziget would have to pay extra for an exclusive show. Is it worth it? They’re not popular outside the UK.
