Feels like thats come round quick!

We're giving it a miss next year - we've been 5 or 6 times now on the trot, and ready for a change - although that won't alleviate the FOMO I'm sure!

So stressed about Saturday, got 12 in our group this year so need at least 2 people to get through. Got a Tattoo booked at 11 so I’ll be trying from a coffee shop whilst trying to make sure I’m keeping in touch with the rest of the group. We’re either gonna end up with no tickets or 72 at this rate!

How long does it normally take for tickets to be all gone? I also have to leave home for a tattoo booking at just gone 11 haha so will be starting on laptop before then but wasn't sure if they'd all be gone by the time I need to leave or not...

Sells out in about 20 minutes recently but last year the website was so unreliable, it took about 40 with all the crashes and people getting kicked out.

They were still popping up at 50 minutes last year when the page was refreshed. We didn't have payment issues, so not sure how much of a factor that was. Assume people were letting duplicate tickets go after the initial surge that made it look sold out.

Geez, have we reached the point of Glastonbury-style spreadsheet groups hoovering up all the tickets here too, now? That feels new, for GM. Sad times....

Wow, thats judgemental!  It's not really that difficult to have a group of 12 friends wanting to go to a festival together.  Or would you prefer us all to go in couples?

Nope! Just positive word of mouth amongst our friend group. We’ve gone in 2019,2022 and 2024 and each time our group has got a little bigger thanks to people seeing how much fun we had.

Oh come on.

Obviously I'm not saying I want everyone to go in couples. I've had some great times in large groups at GM before now, but I guess the relative availability of tickets has meant we've always just sorted ourselves out in groups of 2 to 4 - on the basis that once that group has their tickets the people in it don't just start trying to buy tickets for other people.

Do you seriously not see anything wrong with people who already have tickets trying to buy more tickets? Or with certain folk  being approximately six times more likely to get tickets than others, just because they've got 11 keen mates with enough disposable income and no diary clashes.

Bugger any poor losers who planned to go on their own, eh? That's the spirit.

You’ve built up quite a picture of us in your head I think. We’re teachers on our summer break who are getting the payment plan option. There’s no conspiracy of rich elites swooping into the festival to buy up all the tickets from the “real” fans.

Obviously if you’ve got a bigger group, you’ve got better chances, that’s life. You could make that argument about anything and everything. Equally though, because we have a big group, we’re gonna have to be successful twice whereas a smaller group only needs to get through once. Hint the need for a bit of organisation, especially because my lot can be useless at buying tickets and many don’t get how quickly it sells out.

Apologies , I really haven't built up any kind of image of anyone - hence I guess bristling slightly at the suggestion I was being 'judgmental'. And I'm not judging anyone (except, maybe, by the excellent Thundercat avatar). It just doesn't sit right with me that some people end up with a much better chance of getting tickets than others.

Your group of 12 may need twice as many tickets to begin with, but as soon as one of your 12 gets through you'll have 11 people still trying for the second purchase (the probabilities would only be the same for groups of 6 and 12 if it was a pure lottery, with everyone only getting one chance to either get through or not get through).

There's a transaction limit for a reason, and gaming the system in favour of bigger groups feels anathema to the spirit of openness and inclusivity which makes festivals so great in the first place.

I don't agree that 'that's life', or that individuals in a majority should get better chances than individuals in a minority. But I'm conscious this is starting to sound far more dramatic than I mean it to! They're only tickets at the end of the day. I just think it's sad if GM's getting to the point where anyone in smaller groups is going to find it almost impossible to get tickets.

I can agree with that, my wife and I tried just the two of us last year and were unsuccessful!

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
