It's a case of who they've got for the BIG Thursday sell, I dont think The Cure will carry that day on their own so I'm going for The Cure with The Prodigy closing after them.

A female headliner on whichever day of Saturday or Sunday SOAD don't do.

What do we think then?

Thursday: Vampire Weekend > The Cure > Someone akin to Gorillaz/The Prodigy

Friday: Lewis Capaldi (eurgh) > Twenty One Pilots > Radiohead

Saturday: Placebo > QOTSA > SOAD

Sunday: The 1975 > Florence And The Macine > Billie Eilish

Lewis Capaldi does absolutely nothing for me but I think it'll be very hard to miss him stinking out the upper card of festivals. Don't think the rest is too unrealistic (some of the bands might be wrong but the stature will be there or thereabouts)

I’m the same with Capaldi. He will shift tickets, but I’d prefer someone more exciting and dynamic at the top of the bills. Earlier in the day, he’d provide a nice break in proceedings to beer up and get some food 🤣

If Capaldi is there he’ll be at least subbing.

Hes due to do something big in June in the UK so 100% about

No Dutch date, would expect Pinkpop as an exclusive.

They might not be over that early.

Pretty sure KOL will be on one of your days. Im not convinced QOTSA will be subbing them on the festival shows and I hope they aren't. LP for example didnt have their main tour support at their festival for Belgium, they had Deftones so I don't think that's a given.

Depends how much the rest of the line up costs I suppose but I like to think Werchter can pull better than him as a sub. In 2023 they had a date with Fender 4th down, The 1975 3rd and Stormzy 2nd/Headliner when they were all headlining fairly big UK fests (first two definitely headlined R&L that year) so hopefully he's not as big in Belgium and they can get him in the middle of the afternoon.

Ah I did forget that KoL owe them a show now. To be fair I thought they were in fairly good form a few weeks back at Newcastle so I wouldn't be opposed to having them appear. And that is a very good point, I think just as a big QOTSA fan I would really like that top 2 one day haha.

When I posted my wishlist here some time ago, including Radiohead, Gorillaz, SOAD, QOTSA and PJ, I considered it very unrealistic. I still do (I’ll be thrilled with just 3 out of those tbh), but it’s nice to know that your dream has a chance 🙂

It's crazy isn't it how different people's dreams work. For me, I wouldn't understand wanting SOAD as well as the rest of those but I do get varied music tastes.

They wouldn't play on the SOAD day anyway.

I don't think Lewis is guaranteed a sub in Belgium myself.

I would think Muse are nailed on. History with Werchter, and when they didn't fill in for KoL, instantly thought it's because they're booked for 2026.

I assumed that was because they'd hitched their wagon to Fender as headliner and muse wouldn't want to play before, but yes I could also see muse in 2026

Found some more info about the SOAD tour from a Swedish website: the tour will start in Stockholm so no dates before that and the Stockholm date is the only Scandinavian date this summer; so no Copenhell or Roskilde. Which points even more for them to show up at Werchter.

So no Hell Fest either. My guess is there will two festivals included being Werchter and another to be inserted there. Mad Cool dates depending possible. That's going to be a massive ticket and probably shows the Werchter pull but as I said ages back, there isn't many places they can do outside or Werchter unless they were playing the other events. The fact Werchter got all of LP, Green Day and Olivia and no one else did is quite telling, let's hope the undercard matches up. I would find even with The Cure added to this, it a very hard one to say no to especially with Glastonbury off. There are a lot of acts I like that can play it with VW, KOL, Lorde and The Offspring potentially all featuring too. And I'd 100% take Lewis Capaldi as well but don't want too much of that kinda stuff.

There’s also Sam Fender, will they risk him as a standalone headliner? I doubt it, but would they say you can come in a co-header capacity to make it up.

I dont think they'll bother booking him next year. After this year they will play it very safe.

That sounds very promising for RW, thanks for sharing!

My problem is that I cannot wait to find out :). A SOAD/QOTSA combo is just too good! So I’ll try to get tickets for Düsseldorf (the only concert in their tour not in a stadium - hence the sound should be decent) and if it comes to that, I’ll see them twice. There are worse things that can happen 😂.

Adding that to hopefully traveling for a Radiohead concert (I was lucky enough to get a code) it will be a (yet another) costly year for music…
